Default Stuck at Map Loading

I looked through the forums for connection issues and I mostly found ones involving connecting to arena net and to their characters. I however am able to sign in, select a character but when I start loading a map it will usually load between 9% - 23% and then just stop. If I close the application and try again it doesn't go up 1%.
This doesn't sound to me like a network or a router issue cause I am able to connect to their servers so I am kinda baffled. I also tried to look for a Guild wars Support and Knowledge base but their site has a refrence to it but with no link. Anyways, is anyone having this problem or has had this problem and found a solution. Any help would be appriciated.

yeah me too..i think there's something wrong with the last update, although the update hasn't officially been published on the gw website it's pretty obvious that our chara selection screen has changed.

I wana play gw

I found support on PlayNC and tried out all their solutions such as opening ports and disabling firewalls but I still cannot play the game.

Yea. I'm finding that me and someone else I play with is having the exact same problem. GW is dead atm so we're all going to have to wait I guess.

I'm having the exact same problem and have done all the steps outlined on their support page.

This really sucks because I've never even played the game yet. Anyone have any more information about this?

I'm seeing a definent pattern here. Since the update if you try to download a certain something from the GW download area.... you just can't do it. I'm sitting in a PC gaming place and had to download a bunch of stuff and am having the same problem.

im stuck too and i havea router, my dads non router comp plays it fine ;/

I just got the game today also!
I freakin got past the tutorial and when I try to go into Shea Monastary........ it just tries to connect forever and nothing happens.

JCEEZ, that's EXACTLY my situation.


I just got the game, and it gets stuck at the monastary loading thing. Ive noticed the game seems to not be able to load whenever it tries to load into an area with other players.

I hope they're working on this.

i tried making a PVP player too... and once you get out of the tutorial area same shit....
well ill run my assassin around naked for a bit and wait for a fix

That's a good question.

I think we ALL need to file questions on their support sections to let them know that they've screwed up.

How wide spread is this problem? Does anyone know?

Maybe we'll have to wait until tomorrow, the next offical "buisness day" for them to address this or fix it.

I guess they have the right to do that since we're not paying any sort of subscription fee.

I personally already have a ticket in for this. I love how the support people automatically assume its on your end. I have given him about all the info I can though, so his reply should be coming shortly.
