Yes it is a good laptop, and it will play GW fine, the graphics chip is bit weak for more system intensive games, such as BF2, prey, oblivion etc, but if your not bothered about playing these then its a great choice as a laptop.

Cannon is right. Your graphics card is weak in aspects for a XPS laptop. If possible i would suggest downgrading something to upgrade your graphics card. If this is the best graphics card you have i would suggest looking for a laptop that is the same for a lower price. MAybe if you can downgrade either your memory to 1gb or downgrade your sound. Just suggestions.

Oops, didn't see the XPS bit(note to self - read more )
For that price the graphics chip is very poor, as I pwnd U said save some cash on the ram and get better graphics.

The XPS M1210 is still a nice package considering its $1200 USD starting price. However, it is meant to be more of a traveller model given its very small 12.1" screen (not good for long gaming sessions).
If you want a more gaming-worthy platform at a lower price, check out the Dell Outlet for M1710's. They will be bigger/heavier, so you have to figure out what you want more: portability or game play. I favored more of the latter, which is why I went with the M1710 w/ NVidia 7900GTX-512 (but it dented my wallet big time).

Don't skimp out on the ram. I would bump down the processor.
Still a good laptop for running GW.

If you are willing to go with something non-Dell:
Check around the internet for laptops that are equivalent to but are almost garaunteed to be cheaper. If you get PC Gamer Magazine there are some nice rigs in there.
If not:
Do as I pwnd U said.

I don't know if you want to buy that because you think it's great to have everything in one computer?
If you are I would suggest going against that idea and instead get a decent gaming computer and a cheaper laptop, you should be able to do that for the same money.

That XPS M1210 doesn't have another video card upgrade other than the listed GF7400 Go model. I would suspect that the reason is the small PSU/AC-adapter. XPS M1710's are the currently the only Dell models that have GF 7900GS/7900GTX Go video cards avaialble.
Here's a current listing of available Dell M1710 refurbs:
http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineS...%20M1710&s=dfh
You can get some amazing discounts if you go through educational/corporate channels, especially with their extended warranty programs. My buddy picked up an M170 (single core) w/ GF7800GTX and 3+ yr ext. warranty for $1300, and it looked brand spanking new out of the box.
