Since I cant connect directly to the login servers, he is trying to connect me using a proxy server. It should work, but that means the connection should be slower.
So instead of:
Me --> Login servers
Its:
Me --> Proxy server --> Login servers
Hope tis works....btw, I dun noe much abt computer stuff, so correct me if I'm wrong
This issue has been escalated to our network engineering team. The issue seems to be related to network updates that a major Internet provider are making and they are also looking into a resolution for this issue. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an ETA for the resolution of the issue, but rest assured that it will be resolved in due time. We appreciate your help and patience in identifying this problem and working towards a resolution.
Please let us know when you're able to connect again and whether you have any other problems at that point.
Our Support Teams on both sides of the ocean are very concerned about issues of this sort. I know that many of you have had responses, but I'll go ahead and send them a little note to see if there's anything else they'd like me to post to tell you about. Sounds like a variety of issues, many beyond our control, but we'll certainly continue to investigate!
Thanks for your patience.

So what exactly are we dealing with, Gaile? Should I hold my breath or keep playing Oblivion? I already canceled my pre order to factions. But I do appresiate your responding though.

I don't know exactly what the problem or problems are, to be honest. I do know we're working on some server issues on Thursday of this week, but I don't think that there is a connection with this matter at all. Instead of my guessing, I've sent a note to the expert, and if they have any info, I know they'll let me know and I can then post for you guys to have the latest news.

So can we count on you keeping us updating on this thread? That would be a glimmer of hope for a lot of us if we had you to be quite honest. Thanks again, Gaile.
Nice to hear that there's definate attention from the high ups in tech, though I'm starting to suspect it may well be out of arena net's control. The little optimist in me is still hoping it's not a link outside of arena net for a quicker resolution though. Missin the weekend is bad enough now im missing plain old prophecies guildwars .
Hi to everyone!
I'm another desperate addicted to GuildWars and cannot connect since yesterday! I played all Sunday long, had no problems, and yesterday, even came home earlier from work, just to play more and can't connect even since.
I'm really desperate, cuz i started playing only a month ago and like the game very much!
I didn't update anything, didn't change any settings (when?! I was only playing, playing, any playing! ), have "only" xp firewall, even tried to deactivate it, but no help. Have no idea what to do...
Please, tech gods and gw gurus, help me!!!
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!
I played GW ALL weekend and some last nite (it was quite laggy last nite btw) and today.... same problem again. It's funny how I got a survey today from GW tech support.. any1 else get 1? I havn't done it yet....
i've been playing oblivion too.. I'm stuck on the "find the invisible mage" guild quest.
One of my friends is having the Connecting... problem too.
Here's the scenario:
Myself and my wife bought Guildwars on Sunday, March 26th.
We installed Guildwars and invite our friend Ryon into the Factions weekend.
The 3 of us played about 5 hours on March 26th (3 computers in 1 house on 1 Brighthouse Cable internet connection).
On Monday, March 27th, Ryon purchased Guild Wars himself and added that key to his current install.
The 3 of us played about 8 hours on Monday, March 28th (again, 3 computers in 1 house on 1 Brighthouse Cable internet connection).
On Tuesday, March 28th, Ryon tried logging in and was greeted with the "Connecting..." message.
My wife and I were able to log in from our computers without any problems whatsoever.
Ryon was able to log in on my computer without any problems whatsoever.
None of us could log in on his computer.
His computer had not been on since the last time he played Guild Wars at our house.
It's safe to say that it's not an ISP issue since only 1 computer out of the 3 in the house was affected.
I have not run the network information tool on Ryon's machine yet.
We have not tried reinstalling Guild Wars on Ryon's machine yet.
We are currently leaving Ryon's computer on the login screen and letting it download however much of the GW.dat file as it likes.
Here's my PingPlotter display from pinging auth1.arenanetworks.com. As you can see, I time out at the same hop: POS7-0.GW2.LAX15.ALTER.NET (152.63.117.85)
ROFL! i had some dude look at my comp today, my router, he did evrything pretty much! DOESNT WORK HOW BOUT THAT! It isnt my freakin router or computer! hint hint I BOUGHT NEW ROUTER AND LET HIM HOOK IT UP...for me its problem with guild wars. I'm goin to install it at dads office to see if it works or not. Hope it does....
Well, we let Ryon's Guild Wars install download until it stopped (at about a 1.6 gig GW.dat file) and it still didn't work. We uninstalled it, deleted the relevant registry keys, and reinstalled it.

"Thank you for contacting Guild Wars customer support. This issue is being investigated by our network teams as a matter of high priority and if it is a problem at our end we will have a fix as soon as possible.
Please pursue the matter with your ISP r.e. routing to auth1.arenanetworks.com as they need to look into the issue from their end.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued patience."
Although I'm sure they'd send it to anyone who'd need it anyway, don't forget to check with your isp rather than just waiting for them to fix it for ya.
Hello!
I got the reply from support to uninstall NOD32( ) and bluetooth software . I have no options but to try that. Only, don't like the idea of being without antivirus protection and bluetooth need for voip (internet phone).
When they say to pursue the matter with my ISP, what exactly should I ask my ISP? I got a lousy support and have the feeling they got no idea what I would be talking about.
In meantime I did tracert to auth1.arenanetworks.com and here is the result.
Can someone tell me wether anything is wrong in it?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards.
