Where has the targetting ping gone?
I hadnt played for about 4 days and when I logged on after 300 files to download and install.
I got onto the character selection screen to see all my chars reset to their bog-standard low level armos and colours.
So I nearly died at seeing that.
Then I logged in as my ele to see if my 15k was still on him.
Afte 45 minutes of nightfall updates to download and alot of waiting, I got on.
Then when I was exploring I started to notice I wasnt getting a ping or a red circle when I targetted.
I thought I wasnt hitting the right keys at first so I turned on team talk and it was targetting.
So where has the ping and the red circle gone?

Sometimes I've noticed the ping not showing up (during PvP, etc), but I think it's a random thing. Mine's working fine, at the moment.

There seem to be a few bugs since the last update, other than the graphical ones affecting peoples skins. I've noticed some sounds and effects have been affected as well. For instance, I was playing a warrior last night and when I would sprint, sometimes there was no sound or effect at all, but I was moving faster. Other times it worked as usual. Another time, I was stuck in a perpetual spin. The only thing I could do was exit the game and when I came back everything seemed to be working fine.

I can second this. Doing quests last night, I noticed the '!' wouldn't show up on your quest-target NPC until you walked up to them and initiated the conversation. This seemed to be working fine the night before (when the update was first brought online).
As for the ping sounds, I know they were missing for me the night before (when the update was first brought online), but last night for the most part it seemed to work fine. Some of the spellcasting sound effects seemed to come and go though. Sometimes I'd hear them, other times I wouldn't. I also wouldn't hear my own level-up sound, but would hear the sound of other players getting levelled-up in my earshot range.
Good thread. I hope ANet sees it.

yeah i also had the inventory window open about 3 times when i picked up items. It eventually stopped, but it almost treated all characters as pre-searing newbs, minus the help window pop ups. I had attack graphics issues as well, for the first 3 or 4 swings of my wand nothing came out, it was like one of those cartoons when a gun goes off and the little sign comes out that says "bang". Yes, i too had targeting pings randomly work.

My sounds always get screwed up after a big update and everything from the Trade to Casting Spells and Targeting noises have been pretty random, and the NPC Quest Icons arent showing until I walk up to him/her/it.
Other thing was the Xunlai Agents had no storage chests behind them in Kaineng
