Weird White Screen Artifacts
I reinstalled my system a few days ago and used the Download Client to install Guild Wars instead of using the CDs. Well, before I reformatted, I had no problems with graphics in GW, but now take a look at this. I have the latest drivers (I have a nvidia 6600). Any ideas?

I had problems with my 6600 in terms of strange artifacts (not exactly like yours but similar) that were fixed by updating the agp port drivers (included in the motherboard/chipset drivers usually).

This is a GW bug that has been around for months and months. They got the reports but brush it off as "not a problem" on their end; yet it is. Too many people have the issue with different DirectX versions, different graphics cards and drivers.

I had this problem, and mine was down to faulty ram, you might want to check your hardware.

Had this once myself too. It turned out that mine was caused by the fan on my graphics card quitting. Well, after I'd fixed the offending fan the problem went away so I'm assuming that that was the problem.

Someone from a while back told me it was due to errors in your game account. To clear the problem, just restart the client. It will "rebuild archive" or something to that effect. You could try a full reinstall of the client.
I've noticed that this game is quite stressful on old computers and video cards. Overheating occurs somewhat rapidly and the game begins to lag/artifact/drive you mad. Things you could try to remedy heat issues is clean out the dust from your computer (and fans), reseat the heatsink on your gpu with some nice thermal compound, or just buy a new heatsink/fan all together.

Well, I reinstalled (deleted the .dat file anyway) and still have problems. I'm going to check my fans and other stuff to see if they're dusty and stuff...

Sorry, what I meant was just restart the game. Close it and open it up again.
