Install Error after new update...
EDIT: Problem solved by downloading the client install file again and installing to a different directory. It's in C:\Guild Wars now.
Hey guys, having my first ever techincal difficulty at the moment...
Just downloaded the new update, and lo and behold, Guild Wars cannot install the new update. I get the "Connecting to ArenaNet" screen that happens whenever I load up Guild Wars, then I get another one with gray writing and a smaller bar. The last time that happened, I was installing the game for the first time.
Then, a red box pops up and says:
"Unable To Install
The installer could not write Guild Wars to the specified directory. Please check that you have administrative access, that you have permission to install programs in the specified directory, and that there is sufficient space available on the drive."
Restarting yielded no results, so I'm gonna try reinstalling next. I know I have administrative access, I know have permission to install programs in C:\Program Files\Guild Wars, and I know I have enough space on my drive (272 GB free).
If reinstalling doesn't work, well then I don't know what the problem could be...according to the error, the files downloaded just fine, so chances are that there's a corrupt file somewhere that can't be installed. Reinstalling should fix this, unless Anet accidentally put a corrupt file in the update, which I highly doubt.
The reason I'm asking about this here is because I want to have backup plans in case reinstalling fails. If anyone has any idea of anything else I could do, I could use the help.
For reference, here's my system specs.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz Dual-Core processor
2x1 GB Dual-Channel unbuffered Corsair XMS DDR2 800 RAM
ASUS P5B Wi-Fi/Deluxe Edition motherboard.
XFX GeForce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 RAM video card
That should be all the relevant info, if anyone needs any more info, please go ahead and ask.
