Default Comp. Restarts While Equipping

Now I'm very new to guild wars mainly cuz I can never do much w/o my computer restarting. It's not a consistent thing other than it's always something to do with inventory. Highlighting an item, trying to equip an item, selling an item. Like I said it doesn't happen everytime but it does eventually. I've read a lot about video cards, unfortunately I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to computers. I've even tried to download the NVidia drivers but says it doesn't match hardware. Can someone please try to help me with this problem. Computer specs are:

Gateway GT5012
Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family
Pentium D 2.80GHz
1024 MB DDR2

your problem is your graphics card (or graphics solution, to be exact). the intel graphics chipset is not fully compatible with GW, and will cause those problems.

if you can, buy a dedicated graphics card. if you can't you have to fiddle around with the drivers to get it to work.

if he isnt right:
Overheating. Open your case and clean out all dust, then leave it open with a fan blowing into it. if that fixes it, then theres your problem

my friend had a similar problem whenever he opened his inventory the computer would restart

he figured out that the problem WAS the graphics card and had to buy one that was supported then there were no more problems.

if you dont want to replace a graphics card then idk what you can do maybe try a diff comp

I also had this problem...But i still use the intel chipset...cuz i am cheap....here is what i have its for an 82845g...

Driver version 6.14.10.3943
Driver date 11/2/04
Under the Open GL tab u need to turn Driver memory Footprint to high

Also i run the GW shortcut with this command line
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -dx8 -noshaders -heapsize xxxxx (half your ram so if u have 512ram put 256000)

If u are still having problems let me know...I know that our chipsets aren't the same so if u have the latest drivers for yours try rolling it back or finding an older driver online for your chipset...that is if u don't just buy a new card.
