Ayup, it has virtually wiped out my guild. so far. It has gone from like 9 people online at once to 3 with the lag spikes. Can we call this a NF preview? :P Meh, I am not sure where this leaves us players with the lack of notice/warnings/slightest clue from the server staff.

With all the lag / err7 issues that ANet chooses to ignore, I think the "Nightfall" for ANet is fast approaching. The game is basically unplayable because of the lag spikes usually followed by an err7. I sometimes log both my accounts onto 2 different PCs on my LAN. The problem occurs on one or both PCs and it doesn't make a difference which one it is. I lag/err7 on my laptop whether I play on my ISP or on a different one in a different state. As someone else posted here, I will not purchase Nightfall until the problem is fixed. I know the flamers will say things like "you get what you pay for", "why are you complaining, online play is free", etc. etc, ad nauseum. While they're basically right, the game was advertised as free online play and I feel that ANet should honor that and provide a product that CAN BE PLAYED!! As of right now, this product cannot be played, free or otherwise. /end of rant

Is everyone at Anet in Leipzig or are they changing to Sony style network management? There is no official acknowledgement of the problem and it just goes on and on.
My network is perfect at 15000kbps download (Verizon's Fios) and everything plays along beautifully, then bang, for no reason error 7. This is not me, error 7s were rare for me until Friday. Now 4 in two hours for example. Nothing on my end has changed on my end.
Anet get on the ball here.

Yes. The only time I am getting "err7s" is when both computers with both guildwars clients running simultaneously. If I run one computer by itself, there is no problem. As soon as both computers on my network connect, within 5 minutes we get booted off due to massive lag and "err7s."
I initially tired upgrading the firmware on my DLink DI-604, disabling all the non-sense windows services, killed all the useless processes, and even ran the "-diag tool" a few times. Antiviruses were disabled, firewalls turned off, spyware programs disabled, basically everything was turned off, except the bare minimum needed to run GuildWars. After restarting both machines and double-checking everything, we tried again.
More lag and "err7s."
I am now wondering if this is a port issue for us. Is anyone else out there with two guildwars clients running on the same network getting this problem?
Like I said, this ONLY happens when both clients are running.

Well, I'm glad I am not the only one having the issue. Though technically I know it's not only me. It's gotten worse since the weekend, with retrying the Deep mission 4 - 6 times in a space of 12 hours. Then when we finally manage to get 3/4's of the way through, we lose 4 to an error 7.
Then HA the other ngiht - we lost a further 3 to error 7's, myself included.
I have an incredibly fast internet connection, and I can lag so badly that I am running in circles for about 5 minutes before I bounce back to where I should be and continue on.
Raisu Palace is a nightmare when you do this.
Is this because of the Guild Battles on show? And also, is this ever going to be fixed? It's hard to do anything in the game now as I am way to annoyed and frightful that I will get all the way and lag out or even worse error 7.

well its a nightmare now, i'm not only getting err7 -5 or 6 err7 per hr - but i cant connect after some err7....
i cant do any uw/fow/urgoz runs cos i dont want to see my teams wiped after monk lag out, i cant help my guildies with mis and quests, i cant even do AB.... i'm sending mails to customer support 3 days in the row and the most intelligent answer i got so far was the suggestion to run some tests adn send them the results... but after sending the logs they stopped answering me , i didnt have any answers for 36+hrs for now... i understand that they're prolly preoocupied with lepzig tournament (there were tech issues at leipzig as well) and its a friggin weekend but hey, ppl would like to play during weekends u know

ive been getting plenty of error 7's too. mostly since the aspenwood/jade quarry weekend event. i too usually will be on a ventrillo server. i dont lose connection to that, just guild wars. the error 7's seem to happen most between 6-9pm pst with them happening once in a while the rest of the time. i have a rock solid connection on my DSL connection. i dont know if its arena nets problems or some router on the net is causing the issue but its not my ISP. ive done plenty of checks to know its a problem once i get routed off my ISP's network. ive had to resort to doing stuff with henchies instead of guild or alliance groups in the peak time i see the most drops.

Error messages? Hmmmm.... I get nothing. All I get is a slow down before the drop off. I can not chat, BUT I can move around and see what others are doing. I can cast, but it is a continuous cast with nothing happening. I can see people chat asking me why I am AFK and then nothing.
I wait for around 5 minutes of frustration and then need to totally disconnect from the game. As for Nightfall coming out soon -- I am re-evaluating a purchase with this recent problem. This is happening in the middle of missions, quests and it is beyond the frustration.
I have read the SAME over and over. WHAT is being done? Where do we go to get help?

Hmmm... well I thought I would drop by, and make you guys/girls feel better about being you, and not me.
I made a new elementalist named "Eternal Feminine" about 2 weeks ago. 78 hours of gameplay, and 891 thousand xp later, I death by lagged. I was going for the Legendary Survivor title.

I, like apparently so many of you, have been having quite a similar problem. Where I once could go hours frolicking in Tyria without any problem whatsoever, I now find myself periodically stopping for no apparent reason (due to lag), which aggravates me and those I am playing with to no end. Matters become even more irksome when (almost as often as not) these lags end with an err7 or other conn-drop error, causing me to lose all the progress I'd made.
I'd already decided to boycott Factions because NCSoft, for whatever reason, decided not to ship Factions CE to the EB where I'd specifically reserved that product. However, it seems now that ArenaNet is becoming progressively less-capable of supporting tangible -and- intangible products, which leaves me hesistant to buy Nightfall when so much is already wrong (and, incidentally, the new classes don't seem quite as innovative nor as interesting as those of Factions). I'm sure GWFC is great and all, but there are more pressing issues for the -rest- of the *world's* players.
And before anyone asks, this problem has occurred both when there were and were not other computers (none of which were running Guild Wars, however) on my network, and I have a high-speed connection that until now has not experienced problems of this sort without a good reason (such as a cable becoming disconnected). I don't know if someone spilled the soda during a server update or something, but I have no reason to believe that this problem is somehow on my end.

yeah i think "pissed" would be the best word to describe your condition. another rant--if people are gonna put time and money into this game, we expect the game makers to put time and money back into it...
it'd probably be best if everyone would send at least 1 email to the tech support section of GW, though they probably have gotten hundreds or thousands by now. maybe their asses will get around to fixing it sometime this week.

The unreal lag lightened up a tad today. I did get a few seconds of lag issues today, but nothing like what I had for the past few days. Who knows, someone may have noticed this thread or problem and it is being fixed.
Hope! We need hope, no pissed off people.

I believe my issues with lag and dropouts are related to having two people playing guildwars on the same network (or sharing an ip). I have always had two people playing at my house and have never had a problem until a week or so ago.
For example today i was playing for a few hours by myself, everything was fine and dandy. Then another person in my house logs onto their account on a separate computer using the same internet connection. 60 seconds later we both lag and 1 player (sometimes both) is booted out of the game with an error 7. Again nothing has changed on our end to cause this problem where everything has worked before.
In summation ANET has stuffed up somewhere and it is completely ruining our game experience as we cannot play together nor simulatenously. DO SOMETHING ANET!!!!!!!!!. At the very least respond to this thread and let us know you're aware of the problem and working on it.
p.s.
I have poured through the support website and cannot find anywhere to email a real person about this issue. There's just a brick wall of knowledge base faqs etc. This is so incredibly frustrating. Let's see some CRM from ANET on this issue ASAP plz.
