Athlon 3500+ overclocked to about 3.8 ? lol you have to have godly cooling to do that buddy.... Im not sure it can even go that high... A friend of mine with an Athlon 64 3200 only OC'ed it to only 2.5 Ghz... But a 3500+ OC'd to 3.8?? You gotta be nuts lol...

Lol...reminds me of the jump I had from playing UT99 on an AMD K6-2 533MHz (the computer I'm currently browsing on) with 192MB PC100 RAM and built in crap Trident 3d accelerator to a Athlon 1700+ (1.47GHz) and a GF3 Ti200 with 384MB of RAM. Now my computer's even better, and I got the same jump on UT2004.

800 MHZ is all i know, the rest will be equal to what you'd have if you have a 800MHZ comp, of course, it is possible to play GW on a comp like mine (check some posts above :P ) but i can't guarantee you a shock-less game experience.
Check www.guildwars.com i'm sure you can find it there.

It really doesn't take much to start building a new computer. If you get a part time job you can start buying 1 part a week. Start with a decent case with a cooling system and build from there. It becomes even cheaper if you already have the software like windows xp from your old computer. You will be surpised how quick those parts can pile up and how cheap it can actually be to have a gaming machine. Just remember to get your parts from stores that focus on computers. Stay away from best buys and EB games. The best site I have found is newegg.com but if you don't have access to a credit card look in your local phone book for nearby stores.

We're talking about a 72% overclock. You would need vapochill/liquid nitrogen to keep the system that cool. But that doesn't take into consideration the fact that the processor simply can't be stable at those speeds.

He's just saying the oc is equivalent to 3.8 Ghz P4.
My A64 3000+ is at 2.42Ghz but performs on par with a 3.4-3.6 Ghz P4.

Athlon64 3200 (Zalman alcu-7000LED)
1gig Corsair Value-pc-3200 CAS 2.5
Visiontek X800XT (Zalman vf700-cu)
2 crappy IDE harddrives total = 180 gigs
SB Audigy LS
All in a Aspire X-Navigator
Highest OC on the processor was 2.4 or so, my ram is holding me back and I'm cutoff from buying new stuff via my wife.
I did however get my ambient temps down to 19C last night....living in MN has it's advantages.....though few and VERY far between.

Then you should say the overclock makes it perform similar to a 3800+, or even better yet, give the true core frequency. Nobody cares about what generalizations you people may have about the performance of your processor and system.
