Nope, it doesn't work. It's still stuck on connecting...even after a friggen reinstall.

Except you didn't really do a reinstall, since you put the old .dat file back.

If something's corrupted or missing from the .dat file, renaming it and downloading a little bit, then putting the old dat file back will not fix it (the error in the original .dat file remains).

This is what I did and it fixed mine:

1) Rename GW.DAT to GW.OLDDAT or something
2) Launch GW.EXE (or use your game shortcut)
3) Let it update and download everything. This creates a new GW.DAT and redownloads stuff from the server.
4) Login now worked (for me)

Or you could try step 1) then reinstall from the DVD and then go to step 2) and see if that helps.

Nope, didn't work for me before, I actually reinstalled the whole thing, tried your meathod, still got stuck on Connecting to Anet.

Not a problem now, I log into GW and I get to recive errors, without the hassle of farming, mainly 58s, hoho I'm gonna be stinkin rich...

Anyone WTB...e 5 8 *flash flash*

I did reinstall GW, and reinstall my winXP system
and now its works, but I keep geting the code 58, I don't know why...........I still cannot get in GW
