I've already run Power Defragmenter GUI 2.0.125 and it didn't seem to help at all. Any other suggestions out there? Is my CPU, RAM and vid card up to the task?

Are you running wireless?

If you are, you may want to try moving the position of your router antenna. Also, place your router up high so that it is above other objects to prevent interference.

When I had lag issues, I adjusted my router and antenna position and it fixed it.

Try pinging your IP to see if you are dropping packets. That will indicate there is a problem with your connection. Having a great signal doesn't always ensure strong connectivity.

The laptop has more than enough power to run Guild Wars. Guild Wars requires a P3 800mhz with 256mb ram and 32mb video card. My laptop is practically the same stats as the OP and it runs Guild Wars smoothly.

If the wireless isn't the problem, try updating your video drivers, you never know what it may be. Also, try a program like CCleaner to clean up any excess junk on your drive.
