if you really need service pack 2, which btw you should have as sp1 is not supported, you should enable windows update and download sp2 or search microsoft's website for the installable package. SP2 is designed to better protect and serve your system as such some of the apis have changed along with some of the drivers. It is likely that the units on the shelf have the latest driver packaged with them. The device itself may support sp1, but the drivers may require sp2. SP2 is a free update as long as you use a valid copy of Windows xp.
