Yeah, I have that problem too, there is a green thing over the water. I think it's a graphics glitch...

I don't have that problem. It could be something with certain video cards - have you tried updating your drivers?

I initially figured it was something implemented by the game when you play too long for a time, say 3-5+ hours? But I just quit and restarted.

ok if you go to kamadan where there is grass on the ground and talk to a merchant, or anyone that opens a menu box, all the grass will glow green as well, they must have done something graphically in the last update that WAS NOT LISTED IN THE UPDATE NOTES

Maybe it has something to do with the Wintersday Event... It seems that all the items they have shown are white and green... *shrugs*

Hello,
this fog is not caused by any Winter Fests or so.
This is a gfx glitch as someone had written or any bug in graphics maintenance engine/code.
At first, it must be underlined, that it does not happen all the time.
I don't know how about Radeon [Ati] graphics cards, but nVidia has got mostly this problem (tested on models 7600 GT and 7900 GTX).
I can send later the detailed info about my machine, but I assure You it is not an antic.
The problem appears, while minimizing the GW window (to search gw wiki, gwguru or even, to check the time ). If it is minimized, then this "issue" appears. But as I wrote - it does not appear always.
The problem is, that after maximalization of the GW window, in most cases You got this situation:
* IF You were on the character screen (after logon), You can see the characters panel (rollable with all the characters), but all the rest is green-grey coloured mass.
* IF You were playing the game, the skills panel is visible, the "compas" map is visible also. I don't quite remeber if the energy bars are visible. Most probably yes, but I won't give my head for it. You can hear the game voices and music, but all the rest (world, other players, enemies etc.) are green-grey mass (fog).
This is what I experienced. For more info, I can send You more details when I get back home (ex. dxdiag report).

I have this issue as well, started last week or so. Fog on the character selection horizon, and I've also noticed a few odd green glitches in game as well, for example in Poisoned Outcrops I had the tufts of grass flashing up bright green and then back to normal, and back again. I have a Radeon Ati graphics card.

I've been worried that my machine was gonna crash on me, thank god other people are having the same issues as I am! I have green on the horizon, water, grass, and other small textures show up green/black. I have A Radeon 9600 too. I really really hope this is just a bug(only started maybe a week ago) and that it can be fixed.

When i sayed that a lot of ppl have this problem they send this e-mail:
Thanks for contacting NCsoft Europe customer support. So far whe received exactly two reports of this kind, yours and another one.
At the moment it seems to be related to the ATI cards. Both of your have the same model. This could be coincidence, but without any other reports we have no reference where to start. We need to investigate this issue if it is related to your video card/driver. If the problem is fixed during this time, please let us know as soon as the problem is gone. Sometimes ArenaNet has already a fix in the pipeline for an issue that we are not aware of due to a lack of player feedback.
SO EVERYONE SEND THE E-MAIL THAT YOU AHVE ASLO POROBLEMS!!!!
You put your problem Click here
PLS guys send reports!!!
Thx
Kind regards,
GM Klaus

Same problem, although sometimes all of the water is green. I can get it to disappear by messing with the graphic settings, but it doesn't always work.
