Default "Pop Up" Problem

Well generally what happens is i get a "pop up" that says "hp pavillion support information" and it comes back every 5 seconds and minimizes the game. Obviously its not a pop up pursue, and apparently it requaries a ctrl combo to make it pop up, but even when im idle in GW it still comes up. It is really starting to get on my nerves, so can anyone help me to make this stop comming up?

Thanks

Do you have a HP Printer by chance?

If so, check your HP config and see if you have anything in startup or bottom right of the start bar. If so, switch them off and see if that solves your problem.

Addition. One other thing. I had my ATI Wizard keep popping up today as well. Found out it was set to Ctrl-Alt-W for Hotkeys. As that is the key combo for most stuff i do for looking for enemies and items in game, that is why it kept popping up.
Make sure you have no Hotkeys setup for your HP items as well.

Your thing of the program "msconfig" just put that into run and you can uncheck items to keep them from starting on startup.

There are two options in MSConfig, that if you don't know what you are doing, I would advise against touching. These can stop your PC from booting into windows, and then you would have to go through the Safe Boot mode to get it up and running again, or last known good startup.

The Boot.ini and System Services options. You can untick the other 3 options, System.ini, Win.ini and Startup items, then try the game again and see if it works.

It will prompt you for a restart and then probably prompt you saying that these items have been stopped and want them restarted. Just cancel the request and try the game.

I would think the program in question will be in the Startup Tab. Easiest way to find which one, is to go by where your HP software is installed and then disable those options.

Can someone post a screen shot of this pop-up? It would help.

Chances are it is one of those little "helpful" utilities that come with HP's and it's either trying to check for updates and being blocked by a firewall, or it has detected an issue and is trying to nag you to death.

Let's see the pop-up and what it says and what the type of box it is...

MsConfig > Startup > just turn off things to do with the printer.

if u dont want to go into msconfig for what was mentioned above, just go into ur task manager ( Ctrl + Alt - Del) and turn the printer processes off.
