Penryn benchies and cheap C2Ds
Kinda funny how Intel slashed C2D prices the same day AMD released its horrible 1Q2007 numbers. Newegg is already selling em at the new cheap prices: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003
Even more interesting, Intel has begun to showcase the Penryn core, with some initial benchmarks being published on Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...oc.aspx?i=2972 In conclusion, Anandtech reports: "these initial results look very promising. We would expect to see clock for clock Penryn vs. Conroe improvements to be in the 5 - 10% range at minimum depending on the application.
