Black Display
Hi, for the last 3 weeks or so I have been having an intermittent problem while playing GW. The problem is that the screen goes black (and I mean the whole screen, not just the GW window), I can then only barely make out anything. As soon as I minimise GW the problem goes away, this also happens in full screen not just window in window mode. It can happen a dozen times in 10 minutes and then not happen again in a day. I use the PC for lots of other apps inc dvd editing and watching films and never get the problem with any other apps. I have reinstalled GW, updated active x, installed new graphic card drivers, done roll backs and even tried several previous driver upgrades but to no avail. I dont think its the Graphic card or the Monitor because of it only happening in GW. My grapics card is an Nvida 6600 and the PC is a AMD x64 with 2gb ram.
I hope you can help me with this
Regards

Have you tried any other games that can solicitate your video card more than GW does. Also, did you uninstall your old video card drivers and used a driver cleaning utility before installing the new drivers?

GW is the only game I play so really don't have any others to try. I forgot about the utility to clear old drivers, I will try that and see if it works.
Thanks

Are you forcing a refresh rate by any chance? And do you have an LCD or CRT?

Most likely it is the refresh rate of the game that is causing you problem. Lower the refresh rate to default or 60 and see what happen.

Download a 14 day trial of some random game from file planet and try that if updating your drivers doesnt work, and see if that games screws up as well.

Or use AquaMark3 <or a similar 3D benchmark test> to stress your system. The PlayNC Support techs had me use Aquamark3 as part of a trouble-shooting regime.
