connection problem (Netgear router)
I am unable to connect to Guild Wars to create an account -- and I really want to play. I read about the Netgear problems. Here is my configuration and what i have tried so far:
Windows XP SP2, all patches applied.
Netgear RP614v3.
No firewall apps.
Cable internet service.
1. For WAN setup, I unchecked the box labeled "Enabled SPI"
2. For UPnP setup, I checked the box "Turn UPnP On" because there are multiple family members who wanted to play
3. Under Port Triggering, there are no entries
4. Under Port Forwarding, I tried the following, each time without success:
4a. No entries
4b. One entry: Enabled - Guild Wars 1 - 6112 - 192.168.0.1 (the gateway address)
4c. One entry: Enabled - Guild Wars 1 - 6112 - 192.168.0.2 (my IP address, though if that is the way to do it, how will other family members play)
4d. Two entries: Enabled - Guild Wars 1 - 6112 - 192.168.0.1
Enabled - Guild Wars 2 - 80 - 192.168.0.1
4d. Two entries: Enabled - Guild Wars 1 - 6112 - 192.168.0.2
Enabled - Guild Wars 2 - 80 - 192.168.0.2
Should I try other things? I am afraid to disable DMZ because other people at my house are playing other internet games on their computers, and I don't want to break those games.
If I decide to give up and buy a new router, what router would people recommend as easy to play Guild Wars on?
