yangster Lion's Arch Merchant Join Date: Oct 2005 Guild: Asian Syndicate Profession: Me/E	Can't connect, what's going on? I haven't logged into guild wars for a long time now, about 10 months. Now, I'm trying to log in and it can't connect. I input the same name and password, and then there's a little pop up that says "Connecting...." I left it like that for about 20 minutes and nothing. I did port forwarding, and it's still not working. I'm using the same computer, but different ISP. Right now I'm using Verizon FiOS and using an ActionTec MI424WR. I can't seem to find out what the problem is and the only possible solutions I can think of is my internet connection (which can't be the case) or something happened to my computer and have to wait till next week when I finish my new build. Any ideas? Thanks.

First, just make sure your DAT is fully updated, lots of changes since you played last.

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

Updating GW.dat will ensure you don't suffer any delays while trying to load the game and so forth.

Now, the question is: Can you connect to the server to get the updates?

If you are still get the connecting delay or perma-hang, it may be time to reset your router and/or modem by removing power and disconnecting the cable.

Also double check firewall settings. Easiest way to rule out the firewall is to simply disable it for the period of your test.

You can also try:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\gw.exe" -diag

I did the diagnostic, so how am I suppose to find out what the problem is? EDIT: All I had to do was re-install it. Problem solved. Last edited by yangster; Jul 25, 2007 at 11:18 PM // 23:18..
