Well I am planning to get a new pc as my old one is FIVE YEARS old and have an Intel82845G

It is a Dell Dimension 530, costing a mere £499 (roughly 1000$), which in the UK, is the price of a medium-low end machine:

Intel VIv Core2 Duo 2Ghz E4400

2G ram

128MB ATI Raedon Pro HD2400 (which supports D10, but memory a bit low)

the memory is fine. it's the fact that it's a HD2400PRO that kills it.

the HD2400PRO is mostly designed to power desktop apps, and not designed for gaming. it will run GW well enough, but not at maximum.

It does have the option of choosing another video card:

Nvida Geforce 8300GS with 256MB memory

and this video card is actually CHEAPER.

that one's actually worse, so go with the ATI.

of course, if you have the option of choosing something better, like a HD2600 or geforce 8600GT, it's well worth the extra cost if you plan on doing a lot of gaming on it.

I got a dual core, 3Ghz with an 8800 myself just a few weeks ago. I am so totally amazed at what GW looks and acts like now. Imagine South Park 2.0 compared to the Transformers movie. Yup, you will like whatever upgrade you get.
