Hmm been reading some older posts about people having problems only in this game with their graph card heating up. I have the same problem. Usually it runs at 45 idle and when I used to play wow even after heavy hours of raiding would only heat up to around 52C. Just got GW this week and my card goes up so far highest is 65C. Ambient goes up to 37C so far. Idle it runs about 30C. Where there anything that could be done to stop this. Oh I have 7 fans in this computer all total as well, so I dont think cooling is the problem. Thanks

I noticed that my graphics were getting "weird" on my 6600GT so I checked the temp...

96C... Ouch. I have a nice big fan blowing right on the card now. 70C max.

There isn't much you can do with stock setups on video cards except get the heat out asap. Get a big o' Fan and aim it right on the V-Card.

Sounds like you need to turn off some of the graphics features in GW. Anti-aliasing is a good place to start.

Btw, simply having 7 fans in your computer doesn't guarantee good cooling. It all depends on proper airflow.

I have everything set on medium and dont have Anti-aliasing on. I have 2 fans on the side of the case pulling in air, one on top blowing it out and the big one in the back is blowing in, plus the fan on the card which is pretty big.

65 degrees is nothing to worry about for vga-cards these days.

My 7800GT is usually around 65 while stressed, this is with a zalman cooler on it.

If it goes over 80, I would start thinking about a new cooler

turn that big one around so it EXHAUSTS (MOVES OUT) the hot air.

you have 3 fans stuffing air in and one smaller fan on top to get it out?

plus you never mentioned the front fan in front that should be pulling cool air in.

turn the big one in back to suck the hot air out

turn off the side fans as they only cause turbulance

get the front fan to pull air in the front

cool air flows from front to back and cools best.

my overclocked 7900 GS runs at max settings at a maximum temp of 53

also you might get your next one somewhere else as the *le* suffix is a budget card which had part of the chip factory disabled reducing performance to justify the low price.

also according to reviewers are *se/ls* suffix cards as well

cleaning out dust bunnies is usually the most helpful..DO NOT USE A VACCUUM CLEANER FOR THIS

online do it yourself guides can be found all over from maximum pc magazines site to toms hardware to name a couple

Cleaning your fans is probably the first thing you should do as loviatar said.

Although, 65C is really that high for a video card; some scorch up to 85C and still function properly. But you wouldn't want that of course; it could shorten the life of your card.

Try buying some compressed air cans and blowing out all the dust and if you can't get your hands on those, use a fine paintbrush to dig into the little crevasses to get the dust out.

My 8800gtx runs at 65°C stressed...perfectly normal...

My mate's goes up to 115°C....

Easy, most recent high and mid end cards have a temperature sensor. The card's driver just displays the sensor reading.

For Nvidia cards, download the nTune utility from their website. It adds Performance and monitoring tools to the Forcewear driver suite, including a temperature gauge.

The bottom-end cards usually don't have the necessary hardware to use it though, better ones have sensors and you just need software to be able to read them.

RivaTuner is what I use. It's an ATI tool that works on all cards.

offtopic: It's a program that was 1st made for nVidia videocards: the riva 128, riva tnt, tnt2 etc.

I clean my puters every month, take the side off and clean the fans ect. I have 2 long haired shepherds so cleaning is what I do , lol Just cleaned them 3 days ago
