Hi,
I'm a BT customer
I have full access to the Internet apart from:
www.guildwars.com/support
wiki.guildwars.com/
When i load up guild wars i either:
Can't get past the log in section (Error code 058)
or
Can't load up my character (Error code 005)
This problem has been occurring sporadically over the last couple of days.
This morning i could log in and play, this afternoon i get this poop!
Kind of glad to see it's not just me but unfortunately it does not seem to be as simple as (switch off your home hub) for me
Any news/information/updates will be much appreciated.

I'm having the problem again, couldn't play last night so I left it, tried today and it worked fine then half way through a RA game it lost connection and asked if I wanted to retry and did so with no joy now I'm getting code 058, 005, 007, etc... Sometimes it'll get to the character select then won't load any maps, it even managed to log in and load a map once then I tried observing a game and it lost conneciton again, joy!
Edit: Oh and I can't access the guildwars webby or anything from guildwars.com so god knows what BT are doing/done.

Well yesterday the problem did seem to work itself out after a few hours of this problem but 2day it seems to be ongoing and is really starting to get anoying, not so much that the problem exists but that BT wont admit that there is a fault or that they are fixing it and to give us an update as to when it will be fixed.
After all everytime ive spoke to BT in the last day each of there idiot operators are convinced that the problem is somewere in my own computer and not with there own exchanges, infact they want to blame everyone but themselves.
THey also couldnt grasp the fact that so many BT customers as in all of us faced the same problem at the same time, so how can it be a problem with our computers.
Anyways I ran a "tracert" and told them about that, that the problem dosent lie in not bein able to access the website the problem actually lies in not bein able to reach it and they still wont give us an update.
Well if anyone else has an update or more info let us know.
Peace out.

Guild Wars isnt broken but BT sure as hell have some questions to answer, here are the error codes i recieved whilst just trying to log on.
C:\DOCUME~1\****\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERefac.dir00\Gw.ex e.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\****\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERefac.dir00\appco mpat.txt
Does anyone have a clue as to what that means, ?

I would except there is absolutely no trace of those files in that location.....bizarre
In fact i cannot find those files at all anywhere on my pc, which is absurd as they must be somewhere. I have access to all the 'hidden' files, but to no avail..

BT Home Hub
I restarted mine and it has worked. The Hubs all auto-updated a few days ago to the new software version. Restarting it seems to clear all of the filter data added by the update (unless you save it or add it yourself).

For two or three days before the game access was denied to me, i had been having huge lag spikes, with pings of 5000 and upwards, and then yesterday the connection to Anet's servers died.
The lag spikes and error 007's were a nuicance but this is a real pain in the arse.
Katie i have restarted my hub at least three times today to try to rectify this, but still no joy, wonder why it works for some and not the others???

I haven't restarted my router all day (I don't use the homehub as we already have a netgear router) due to the net being used by other people so I haven't been able to play GW. I tried about 5mins ago to log in, same problems, so i finally gave the router a reboot and now it's working fine but I rebooted it last night about 3 times and was still getting the problem so I dunno whats happening.

Well i know BT might like to think the problem is with us cause u get the impression that they will put the blame anywhere but on themselves but the fault is definetly at one of there exchanges even though they wont admit it and give us an update as to when it will b fixed.

having similar issues here tonight also on BT
did some tracert to guildwars.com and also to the ip that a char logs into
Yes i get to char select then after select get error
every time i tracert it gets to telehouse.ukcore.bt.net
then request times out every hop after
Think the problem certainly lies bt side imo as i can access evrything on net bar guildwars.com and GW itself , i can get wiki to load.
edit btw have tried switchin hub of and on a few times still no success
