Guild Wars and ATI Radeon 3870
I just upgraded my computer and I cannot load Guild Wars. PlayNC support told me that my computer does not meet the minimum specifications to play Guild Wars, and obviously thats not true. Has anyone had trouble playing GW with a Radeon 3870 video card?
Full Specs:
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz (overclocked to 3GHz)
2GB DDR2-800 RAM
ATI Radeon 3780 video card with 512MB VRAM (DirectX 10)
Hopefully someone can help me with this issue!

"cannot load Guild Wars"
What's the error message if there is one?
Other games work?

Needs more detail..
But just for starters, run the processor at default/stock speed, and install DirectX 9 from microsoft.com (even if you have DX10 on Vista, go and install DX9, it's necessary for some games.)
(I have the same processor, I have the same amount of RAM, and I have HD2900XTs which are nearly the same thing as the HD3870s and it runs GW fine on Vista)

Sorry, but I fail to believe that any support team, even if they're inept as ANets, will tell you that your system isn't within the minimum specs!

Maybe quad cores ( like dual cores ) are not supported yet, that's wat they might have said perhaps.

I have a Quadcore + 3870 too, no problems here. Are you sure you have the latest drivers?

Since this is "Wintersday" I'll try to refrain from too much sarcasm about reading the "stickies". But seriously - "cannot load Guild Wars" tells us practically nothing. Just to give you an idea, I'll ask you just some of the possible questions....
Do you mean you can't "load" GW from the CD onto your computer? (In other words - install it?) Is your CDROM drive or hard drive malfunctioning?
Or, do you mean, after you've installed it, you can get it to "load" from the hard drive when you click on the icon? Does it start?
Or, does it crash after it starts?
Or, does it come up with a error? Before or after it starts up?
Or do you mean GW won't connect to ANet?
Or, after it connects it won't "load" (run)?
Or, etc., etc., etc.
Btw, the 3870 is a very new card from ATI, it's possible that the support staff were thinking you had some really old ATI card.
