Graphic Card Error
Ok so heres the problem...I have been experiencing problems with my graphics card that usually results in my screen going black, except for the mouse. When i minimize guild wars a pop-up reads, Guild Wars has encounterd an unrecoverable graphics driver error...It gives a link, but im not sure i want to install and re-install, im only 15 and its my dads computer, u get it The problem usually occurs in certain parts in eotn/gwen in asuran areas at the moment. I can't even sign on because im stuck in an asuran city and as soon as i choose my char it goes black. All of my other characters work fine. I encountered this problem earlier in nightfall at once specific city. I signed in on another computer and mapped out of the city, later when i signed on my own computer it loaded fine. My graphics card is an...Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller....any advice??? do i have to buy a new one to go without problems or should i result to logging on my friends computer again? thanks in advance

Running Windows Xp?
Start > run > type dxdiag > in the window that pops up, click save all information in the bottom right
Paste it here
Check event log:
Control panel > administrative tools > event viewer > check all three categories for errors
Dx diag will tell me what video card you have so we can update to the latest drivers.

go to this link:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t=35043&page=4
go to the first page of that thread, read the instructions, then go to the last page and click on the picture with the correct configurations for 3Danalyzer.
the results won't be pretty, but it will at least be enough to get your character out of there.
for future reference, you have an older generation intel GMA, which is an integrated graphics solution only good for watching movies and using office applications. it may or may not be possible to upgrade. either way, i would rather get a new computer than upgrading what's probably an old machine.

If you have an intel integrated graphics card, don't do any of that crap! I had this problem too. Minimize the window when you are entering into the certain 'problem zones' then maximize it again when the area is completely loaded. Works like a charm for me.
Edit- Please tell me if this works for you also.

ax your method has seemed to have worked...though it is extremely inconvenient lol...i may consider moriz's idea because using ax's idea makes me extremely laggy, to where i can hardly move...but two quick questions...moriz by the results won't be pretty do u mean i'll barely be able to log on but it'll still work??? and after i get him out how would i go about changing it back? because its only these 'problem zones' and 2nd question....am i going to get in trouble b/c i've posted more than once in this thread today???? im new soo...plz forgive my noobishness

the results can vary. oftentimes you'll find the colour balance of the game completely disturbed. everything might have an orange tint to it. or blue. or red. or yellow. or the very worst: black. you'll also find things like blobs of black stuff obscuring part of your screen. however, these things can be "fixed" by restarting the game over and over again until you find what you can live with.
after you move your character out of those zones, you can just run the game without 3Danalyzer and the game will work normally.

Really? I don't find it inconvenient. As long as you know which areas cause your game to crash, you only have to minimize it for those areas. Only like 5-6 cause my graphics card to fail. Also i haven't experianced the lag problem after that you described.

there's nothing to worry about. just try not to post a string of posts without someone else posting in between, and you'll be fine.
