I have some upgrade plans for mine since it's overdo.
I'm currently running a phenom II quad core mildly overclocked cause for some odd reason my water cooling is sucking and not cooling as well as it should.
I will probs switch that out for a cheapo hexa-core amd cpu hopefully without a mobo upgrade.
I currently have 6 gigs of corsair ram with decent timings.
Will probs just stick with this.
dual booting windows 7 64 bit and a flavor of linux that changes every couple weeks
Currently I have 3x 9800GTX+'s but I have some cards on order to replace these once I deal with the weird fricken heat issue.
psu a corsair 650 watt and corsair 1000watt. Yes I do like to have a seperate one for my cooling system thank you.
I have a 1TB hard drive in here. Sitting on the shelf in my closet i have a second 1tb hd and a 64 (?) GB SSD.
One of these days ill get around to it all.

nice, and i think its smart having seperate psu, always good if you can do that, makes less stress on everything when you do that, plus it makes parts last longer, lol

My current system is:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz
MoBo: I think it's FoxConn (brought the PC from dell)
RAM: 4GBs
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 460
PSU: Seasonic 500W
Case: Silver xBlade ATX
with 600GB primary HDD, 148GB backup (I only backup my documents area which isn't that large) and 100GB to store my Virtual Machines.
Although when I finish my apprenticeship in June and start earning some decent money I'll be upgrading to something similar to yours (I too don't want to upgrade for at least 4/5 years after buying this):
CPU: Intel i7 950 (depending on the Sandy Bridge prices I may get one of them instead, although if what I've heard is true about DRM etc then I won't go anywhere near them)
MoBo: Asus Sabertooth X58
RAM: 12GBs Corsair DDR3 Tripple Channel 1333Mhz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Graphics: x2 EVGA GeForce 570 (using my current 460 as a dedicated PhysX Card)
PSU: Corsair HXUK 1000W (might get a 800 - 900W instead)
Case: Antec 902
I'm toying with the idea of getting an i7 980X-Extreme but I'm not sure if I want to spend the extra £400/£500 on it.

word of advice, id stay away from the asus sabertooth mobo, they have had major probs with them with burning up ddr3 ram because ot bad voltages, and not booting up because of not having the 1.5 volts , and also version 1 and 1.1 were burning out fans, some so badly they melted some, so unless you know that they worked out the bugs, id stay away from it. I was gonna get that board, but when i heard that, i decided to go with the MSI X58A GD56 mobo instead
and as for the sandybridge i7's there still new and are hard to come by

Well my personal rig is an i5 750 OCed to 3.6ghz with a HD5850 and 4GB (may up it to 8GB ar some point if prices keep dropping) so I'm confident it will max GW2 out with ease @ 1080p. I recently added a HD 4850 to my wifes computer (AMD 7850 CPU) since I don't think her old HD 4650 was going to cut it for GW2, but I expect it will be sufficient now to max out the game @ 720p; if we ever upgrade her screen to 1080p it could be another story but for now I expect to have a very smooth gameplay for both of us.

My Macbook Pro died the other week so I've been forced to get a new computer (not paying $800 for a new screen) so I'm looking into getting a Toshiba Qosmios. I'm a Mobility Gamer so laptop is the only way to go.
Nice 18.5" 720p Display (I usually use my 48" HDTV when I play GW)
i7 4 core 8 thread 1.73Ghz
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M
Only 4Gigs of ram, I'll upgrade to 8 Gigs later when its necessary
and a 500Gig hard drive (7200 RPM)

I'm so psyched about guildwars2 I cant wait to play it.

Asmodaus, your rig is overkill for GW2, but it is a beast.
What i'll be running for GW2
i5-750 OC to 4.0 ghz
4GB of ram
ATI 5850 OC core to 1 ghz
650w psu
2x 1TB in RAID 0

This is just another "brag about my rig" thread. I won't have a complete rig for GW2 until sometime shortly after the GW2 beta.
(Atm, it's an i5-750 with an HD4870, but the video card is likely to change.)

Yeah, no delays except switching between inputs. Just the text is a bit hard to read in the chat box, that is my only qualm about it.

It may depend upon the age of the TV. Some older models may have a relatively low rez and slow response time. But newer HD models work just fine.
When I play GW on my 47" using my HTPC with a wireless keyboard and mouse, I don't notice any lag or smearing. The only negative is, like above, that at 1920x1080 the text in the chat box is a bit hard to read due to it's small size, my vision, and my seating distance.

Yeah, same here, on my 42" @ 1080p I can't read the text from the couch (12' away) and if I move the Lazy Boy close enough to read the text I can't see the whole screen at once... which results in a headache over time. It's nice for FPS games where all I need to do is blow things up with a big gun though.
