Hey guys, got a bit of a problem here. Im in need of changing my user name and/or password details for guild wars, however, i do not remember my login details for my plaync account, as it was a long time ago when i made it and i never had the use for it so over time i forgot it. ( and for those who do not know, we can now only change guild wars details via our plaync accounts).

Now trying to retrieve my plaync account, the customer service people at plaync have requested several details to prove its my account, including the cd keys for all 3 of my campaigns (proph, factions, nightfall) registered to my guild wars account. I can give all details, except for the proph and factions cd keys, i happen to still have the nightfall cd key. Unfortunately, plaync requires me to give them ALL 3 cd keys, even though it makes complete sense to me that if that one key does match up with my account, what difference does another 2 keys make? they all link to each other anyway.

Is there anything i can do? there is no way i have the prophecies and factions cd key with me as i disposed of it years back. nightfall was reasonably newer so i was fortunate enough to still have it.

Is there some sort of a cd key grabbing program or anything of the sort that could help me out here? i have a feeling i am not the only one with this problem either.

any help is much appreciated

unfortunately, there is not. i am sorry for this happening to you, but, needless to say, you are in a very tight situation where you most likely won't win b/c plaync = douche bags. so many people have lost their accounts this way and it's rediculous.

cd grabbing program would make life much easier but hackers can use it for other things...i've only got the platinum edition and have never lost my account cos i dont use plaync i think its rubbish...and you should really throw your keys away as it might come in handy like now

Short of having support compromise on that there's not much else you can do. I forgot my password a while back as well, and the 'Forgot Password' was not much help either because I had failed to update my account details during an update to their services.
When I contacted support they requested the three keys, but I only had 1 on hand and couldn't remember where I had the others. When I asked that same question of why I needed the three since they were linked, they told me one of the reasons was to verify that indeed I had purchased all three, and that one or two of them had not been 'aftermarket' (gold bought/traded/used/stolen/etc).
I tend to keep and store most of my software purchases, so after about a week of going through my garage stuff I was able to find them. Hopefully you'll be able to find a way to deal with this that'll satisfy their security services.

ah! they didnt even tell me that. i asked about a dozen times and they keep avoiding the question lolol plaync are actually a bunch of jokers.

Anyway, thanks a bunch guys, i just wanted to be aware of what possibilities i might have in this situation, obviously not many but its good to get a solid background

Its a shame we cant get service like this at plaync!

How sad that PlayNC won't allow people to access their acounts unless they have ALL 3 keys. Not for the acounts security but just so they can be sure that you didn't get your game unofficially.
