EDIT: this doesn't apply to your case, but v-sync is there to prevent tearing on high end systems where the fps can be too high for your refresh rate.

I LOLed. When I built this PC, my GW FPS was in the 400's in several areas. Talk about tearing, lol. I have V-sync enabled now, and I rarely (Loading into Kamadan AD1 can do it) drop below the beautifully smooth 60 FPS.
