Decent Download Manager
Howdy there, trying to download a HUGE file at the moment, and as is common with my Hub, and internet connection (live in the middle of nowhere) it's definitely going to drop out before its done.
The last download manager i installed removed ALL of my startup programs, some of which i had to reinstall to get working again, and thus i want to ask for peoples opinions before i install another one.
Basically i just want it to auto-restart downloads once the internet connection is back on, so if i am downloading something overnight i don't have to watch over it.
Thanks for your time!

If you use Firefox, get DownThemAll. It works extremely well, though I do not believe it has an automatic resume feature.

When I have large files to download, I use this program:
http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm
If I remember correctly, it does have auto restart, but don't quote me on that. It also has a cool GUI that shows just how much is left to download.

Thanks for your replys, looking into both.
Hopefully shouldn't need an autorestart, as since we got a new hub the internet hasn't cut out as frequently. However, its always better safe than sorry.

Download Accelerator Plus is adware, in the past it has been tagged as malicious software.

What he said. DownloadThemAll is very good. but the recent version has alot more bugs then the pre-1.0 versions.

1.0.1 has caused some Fx lockups, but nothing too major.

I use IDM (internet download manager).
It's highly customizable, no ads, scheduler, grabber and a lot more. It also grabs FLV files from your favorite flash video sites (youtube, myspace video, google video, veoh, hulu, etc)
Does everything you want, nothing you don't.
