New Laptop
So.. I'm about to buy an Acer Aspire 8920g.I don't know much about graphics cards etc tbh, so i was wondering if anyone could tell me if I will be able to run Guild Wars at High/Maximum Graphics and have a decent FPS.
SPECIFICATIONS:
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8300, 4GB DDR2 RAM (3GB tested), 320GB hard disk (2x 250GB tested), Blu-ray DL writer, Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS (8600M GT tested), 18.4in 1,920 x 1,080 TFT, 802.11a/b/g/draft n, 1.3mp webcam, 4x USB, HDMI, VGA, Windows Vista Home Premium.
Thanks.

That should run GW flawlessly. I have a laptop that has significantly lower specs and runs GW on maximum settings.
However, I'd question the 4G of RAM and Windows Vista Home Premium. You may have 4G of RAM in there, but the system will only run up to 3.5 because WVHP is artificially capped there. To actually run 4G on a windows machine you would need to have 64 Bit Ultimate.
An 18.4 inch screen on a laptop is HUUUGE.

yes Guild Wars is 3 years old so graphically speaking it's kinda outdated now. Just about any new machine will run it without problems, (at least with a dedicated graphics card).
*from personal exp. I would suggest considering a different make than Acer, they would not even rank in the top 5 brands to buy from in my personal opinion; good luck with whatever you purchase and enjoy the game*

Acer build quality is crap. I'd play with one before buying.

I agree I own An Acer Aspire. WORST COMPUTER EVER!!! Get the extended warranty if you do buy it. My hard drive quit 13 months after owning it and I had to buy a new hard drive. Acer STIFFED ME!!! I would go with a nice HP or Sony. BUY ANYTHING BUY AN ACER!!!

Can't say I agree with Ferret above there as I have an Acer Aspire 5670 and it works flawlessly and has for two years now. So yes the laptop will run GW easily.
I have said this recently before but, with just about any laptop you have to be careful about it overheating during gaming. Mine does occasionally, not that big of a deal, just letting you know.

I'd recommend looking at www.delloutlet.com for more options before committing to any laptop. These are refurbished models which usually look new out of the box. However, they carry the full factory warranty, and the degree of hardware that you get is usually pretty amazing. My XPS M1730 gaming laptop just arrived from the outlet, essentially a ~$5000 unit that I got for about $2500... here are the system specs:
Dell XPS M1730
Intel X9000 CPU (2.8ghz, OC's to 3.4 in the BIOS)
4gigs RAM
NVidia 8800M-GTX SLI (total 1gig DDR3 over both cards)
1920x1200 WUXGA display
Illuminuated keyboard with Logitech mini-LCD
200gig 7200rpm HD
DVD RW / BluRay ROM
802.11 a/g wireless card (upgradeable to draft-N)
Windows Vista Premium
The above unit was marked "Scratch/Dent," but the unit literally had only one minor scuff mark, and that part is going to be replaced shortly. Otherwise the whole unit looked pretty new.
Unfortunately, locating a similar model to the above is somewhat difficult due to shady users running cart-bots to tie up inventory without actually buying them. However, if you have the patience (and luck) to locate one, you can end up with a lot of nice hardware for the money. Since they are already assembled, you can get one within a week of placing the order, and if you don't like it, you have 21 days to return it at no cost whatsoever.
EDIT: Oops, I just re-read your post and realized you were in the Netherlands. Based on this, delivery can take longer than a week lol
