I can log into only certain characters when I turn on GW. All PvP chars and 2 of PvE chars. I have no idea what's wrong, any ideas?

Are the characters still "there"?

I mean, on the log in screen, are the "missing" characters still displayed but unable to be selected, or are they not there at all?

If they're not there at all, you have to look at the possibility that you might have suffered an account theft and subsequent character deletion. I hope this is not the case.

No they are there, however when I click "Play" it just sits at the loading screen and says that there has been a networking error. Only on the characters I actually play though

That's odd.

At least it's not account theft.

Did you leave all of your unavailable characters in the same place, by any chance?

All I can suggest is a possible gw.dat error. Never seen a network error on only certain characters.

Renewing the .dat is always a good idea periodically anyway

You could try asking support, ive heard about people having characters stuck like that before and they had to have support move them.

The only thing I can think of is a trial expiring. Do you own all the campaigns? Did you perhaps create these characters under a trial account for a campaign you don't own that has since expired?

problem seems to have resolved itself.

and no im over 34 months old.

I've had this happen on occasion.

Just seems to be a random error on the server side that clears up on it's own.

One of my friends encountered this. Apparently, it was the internet service provider to blame.... but I'm not saying it could be the same for you... just a possibility.
