Well I just had this problem now, it's NEVER in all my 2 years of playing Guild Wars, happened to me before. So I was playing Guild Wars, and was on the character selection screen, and I loaded up another game in Full-Screen mode (StepMania, if it's important). I alt-tabbed out, and alt-tabbed back in, then closed it (Stepmania) via Alt + F4. Then I alt-tabbed from my desktop into Guild Wars, and the screen was entirely gray. Like so...

So what I did was (since I use the -password command line code) logged in to any one of my random characters, and, surprise! I can see the interface, but not the graphics/terrain/characters/npcs/visuals. ( I can still see my interface). So I go through everything, and find that by turning OFF "Enable post-process effects" the screen turns back to normal, any ideas of what I might've done/disabled/broken?

Edit: Apparently my screenshots all turn out like that too, even normal ones!

are you running texmod?

Post the specs of your computer, especially the video card.

Once you have done that, the next question will be: Have you updated your graphics card drivers lately? If so, then revert back to older ones, if not, then update to newer ones.

Not running texmod, and here's my specs...

Intel Core Duo CPU

T2350 @ 1.86GHz

1.00GB of DDR2 Ram

Windows XP Media Centre Edition, SP 2

And the video card I'm using is "nVidia GeForce Go 7600"

No idea how to update my graphics card drivers, how would I go about doing so?

Ok so it appears you're on a laptop.

Well, you may have to search your manufacturer's site for new drivers if they have any, I'm not really that skilled with laptops. It doesn't really seem that the Nvidia site has any drivers for your card, so the best bet is to hope the company who made your laptop has some on their site I guess.

Or, you can try deleting the .dat file and re-downloading it, perhaps it became corrupted and is causing these types of problems?

Kay, well I guess I'll try re-downloading the GW.dat file overnight, I'll let you know if it turns out alright.

Alright, I'm sure you're familiar with the -Image command then.

We shall see! I know the 7600 should not have any problems with Guild Wars, that card is more than good enough to run it.

Well, I restarted my laptop, and haven't had any problems with the post-process effects. Looks like a simple reboot was all that was needed. ^^

I usually do that until I get stumped, not to sound mean at all, I actually laughed (in a good way) lol.
