Keyboard Weirdness
I use (at the moment) a Benq USB keyboard. However, I don't know if the problem is related to the fact that it's a particular model, or that it's USB, or if it's some other software glitch. (This problem used to happen in XP too, but now I'm running Vista)
Anywho - the problem. Sometimes my keyboard seems to switch to some foreign language layout. The letters & numbers stay the same (I think), but most of the punctuation symbols seem to get replaced with something else. Keys such as "?", "/", "[", etc., get replaced with various 'foreign looking' symbols. (I don't recognize them - when it happens again I'll edit this post to show what I mean.)
I first noticed this happening in GW. . It seemed to happen after (but not always after) I went to an international district. Recently, I've noticed it happening in these forums too, for no apparent reason. I have to quit and restart GW or my browser (as applicable) to clear it up.
Unfortunately, I haven't spent much effort yet trying to solve this, so I haven't found a repeatable way to make it happen.
Edit - it has occurred to me that it could be the result of some CTRL or ALT +key combination that I hit while typing.
I'm just wondering if any one else has experienced this and/or if they have an idea whether it's hardware (keyboard), connection (USB), OS, or app related.
