well, HP computers do not come with actual installation disks. what they'll do is partition off a section of your harddrive and use that as a "recovery" partition, which merely restores the computer to its initial settings. this can cause some serious problems, since it is not a true reinstallation.
fortunately, HP does supply you with the vista CD key. it's located on a sticker on the side of your computer. if you want to have a true reformat, get a vista home premium installation disk (either from the internet or borrow from a friend), reformat the computer, and install using your own CD key.

Hmmm yeah i dont know anyone else with a vista disk, and i doubt id be able to procure one from the internet...
im about to uninstall gw and re-install and see what happens.
if that doesnt work.. i have no idea what to do.
me not knowing what i was going on.. i thought just restoring the computer
to factory settings would work. and if not. its only a month old.
ill just use the warrenty to replace the computer.

reformatting without a real installation disk will just mean you'll have an unusable computer. i'd let you use my MSDN vista downloader... however, it's vista business, which won't work for you.
you might be able to pick up a vista installation disk from a small computer store for $10, since it's only the CD key that's valuable.
