Curse

Yesterday when playing guild wars i closed down the game for a second.. when i closed down everything was 100x bigger and in black and white , so i shut down my computer. after that when i logged in etc everything seemed to be running normally . however , then i came to playing guild wars , first i had to download roughly 6,000 files , followed by an additional 25,000 to actually enter the guild hall . the past 5 times i've logged in i've had to download . i'm currently in the process of reinstalling guild wars , but will that be enough , and that is causing this problem ..

tyvm to anyone who can help out here.

Wow weird.. Reinstalling it probably would help I'm assuming, sounds like your old .dat file was corrupted or something.

If you don't want to wait for everything to download, right click your icon, and in the target line add a space, then put ''-image'' without quotes, so it will look like this: C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -image

Let that run over night and it should be done by the morning, then you'd have downloaded all files by then, just make sure to remove the image tag after you're done downloading all the files, it just forces the game to download all the files at once and the game wont launch with that command line in the target.

i've reinstalled , it was suprisingly quick , had to download roughly 30,000 files overall , (around what it was doing before ) , hopefully might help , atleast the vast lag is now gone.

Had Samekind of issues when my CPU Broked, it was like that 2 weeks orso then Whole PC just crashed

If you have a GW cd, then it will be pretty quick. Don't be too surprised, while it is not commonplace to have a corrupted gw.dat file it does happen to people from time to time. Sounds like that happened to you....
