It'll help if you can all post your general locations, and when you're lagging.
Last time there were problems, it was due to some European ISP or something like that, so posting your locations will save Regina from asking for it later.

I've been lagging on and off for the past week or so. I don't really pay a whole lot of attention unless it really screws with my gamming.
One evening last week, my fiance and I both got booted and then couldn't reconnect for well over an hour. Kept getting code 058....unable to connect to any log in servers. Our net was working fine, we were both browsing wiki and such during this time.
One morning late last week, I logged in and almost immediately had issues with my ping jumping from 100-200ms to 2-3kms. My normal ping is usually around 100.
I played all afternoon yesterday without any lag issues. Then after my fiance got home and we starting vanquishing togther (after 6pm), we lost connection close to a dozen times in 45 minutes. Code 007 and Code 058. Again, nothing wrong with our computers/network/interent. Everything else is running fine: IE, vent, etc. We finally gave up on vanquishing and went to watch tv instead.
Edit: My fiance and I live in the US, eastern time zone.

The lag I have is related to my current computer. I don't think I've had anything server-side for a while now... although I see people getting d/c'ed and threads like this popping up. Wouldn't doubt there's something wrong on the server.

TIME WARNER!! It is NOT I repeat IT IS NOT! GUILD WARS.
OK here is the thing. I am an idiot when dealing with computers and networks and wifi and crud like that. MY WIFE however is a Computer Network Specialist. Yeah for me!
So here is what she said. She pinged the server thingie and the pathways through the nods? to trace the path of my internet connection mapping? and got the non response time out for the place thing.
WHat thE I said. She said it is TIME WARNER up grading their system NOT GUILD WARS. to prove this to my spaztick reaction. She said to just brows the internet. Like this site and see it if was fast. It was. she then gave the a different ip adress a bunch of numbers and I put them in. It was oK. then she somehow tracked down a GW server in some distant place Japan or something and the connection timed out. Then I tried surfing in Japan and I timed out.
So my wife is right. She is always right. Computer Network SPECIALIST. It is HER JOB. So no probs with Guild Wars.
TIME WARNER is Fixing system to make it faster. My ping is 85ms with a tower and a laptop when working good. My ping last night around 7:00 turned to 14,500. Just give it 2 days and things will be up and running again. Or call TIME WARNER.

heres something you can do.
when in game look for a dot in the lower right hand corner wave the mouse over it to get the ip address. that would be their server's ip so when it turns orange or red if it is then you know. plus if you wanna be extra sure write down the ip address then do a ping or a tracert in your command prompt window if your looking for proof and evidence and paste your proof on this forum. that should make them wake up from sleeping on the job!!

Well, I'm not an expert on computers but I do know more than the average guy... and yet Time Warner doesn't ring a bell, other than Warner Brothers company. I imagine it's an ISP related to the WB. It would explain if everyone who lagged was on the same ISP, but I doubt everyone who's experiencing lag are on the same ISP.
As eagleblade said, it might be this particular server (maybe who's under Time Warner ISP?) which people connect to (checkable via the ping dot) which is experiencing problems, thus why not everyone's having the lag. Just the connections routed to the server.
If they don't match, then it's ANet or several ISPs have problems. If they match, we'll know there's a problem o this particular server.

It's not, I did all of my windows updates as soon as I turned on my computer, however, I don't think that's the case since I'm not the only one lagging.

Well being from Quebec it might be Bell Canada. wait that has Canada in it so they renamed it since the Harper of Newfound Land put the kibosh on the Meach lake Accord or was it Elijah Harper in Alberta? Oh well.
here is the thing. If it is ANET then EVERYONE would be kicked off and that is just not the case. As everyone knows the Internet is SHARED with different Networks. These are called Nodules. If you are being "routed" through a "Nodule" that is being fixed or changed then you will be disconnected or you will be "lagged" cause there is so much traffic trying to go through.
You can check the "path" of your internet with some sort of thing that my wife does. It is kewl to watch it "Bounce" back the signal to the different "nodules" to see how fast each "location" is.
So please. My wife is a Network Database Administrator. Her friend has her Doctorate in Computer Science. it is NOT Guild wars. Remember if it was then logic says that EVERYONE would get BOOTED.
Now Logic is not always easy to follow. Like why does Quebec want to separate from Canada if they are not even a member of Canada? They never even signed the Constitution that Trudeau brought over from England in 1982. Quebec is only there as a amendment to the Upper and Lower Canada Act of 1867.
So check your facts.

I very rarely get lag spikes or DC's, but this morning at 3am EST I had a 59k ping followed by more long lag, then a disconnect. I was on vent with a guildie which was unaffected, he is from australia and was having no trouble with GW's.

ANet's servers are probably not single machines connected to the internet, but clusters of machines routed through the same external IP address. Who's to say it's not a problem past the internet, inside the server-cluster?
This has happened several times with the company I work for: a router breaks down in a datacenter where we colocate some servers, or a machine suffers from defective memory, etc. A small defect and the whole service becomes unreliable without necessarily affecting every user, because of the distributed nature of the service.

I live in England but I've been playing the US servers so I can find enough players to have fun. Since Sunday I've had multiple disconnects that occur when exploring or just sat in town.
Was nice to restore connection on a CoF run and find a gold drop waiting for me, but on those occasions when I'm an active member of the team it's been very frustrating.

Huh... what? I'm from Quebec, fully bilingual, and really I don't see the need to bring debates on Quebec's status within Canada on a topic about lagging...
What I referred to in my previous post went further than the ISPs and ANet itself. For all I know it could be a certain server, but given it seems people even in Europe are affected by it, I don't think it's a particular server. I doubt it's ISP-based because I don't think everyone's running on AOL (subsidiary of Time-Warner), Comcast or Verizon (2 other problematic ISPs from what I get from my friends...).
But it could be. We won't be sure unless we have more information.
1. Could be the ISP. Is everything else working fine? Are you having lag problems on other online games? Problems navigating? Are there any other person on your ISP who's having the same problems with the same applications?
2. Check the GW IP routing: Right-click on GW shortcut, find the "Target" box, type -diag at the end. Run GW and you'll see a window; it's testing your connection to PlayNC. After the window disappears, you'll see a .txt file (NetworkDiag - Notepad) which displays all the information.
Alternatively you can do it with the command prompt (Start panel => Run => type cmd); enter ping ###.###.##.## (replace the #'s by the ping dot's IP).

We had our RC monk dc twice in one match. Next match 6/8 people DC'd 3 times within 7 minutes. At one point only our warrior and I were able to play.
