Default My comp doesnt want to run GW.

When i start GW i can play for about 10 minutes then the screen turns itself off. When the screen goes back to normal i get some message. What can possibly be wrong?

What does the message say?

Please post your computer's specs if you could as well, that would help a lot. E.G: Processor, Video card, etc.

Sounds like a driver problem to me, when was the last time you updated them?

That or your computer isn't supporting something.

It could be overheating.

Machine specs would be great.

I'm going to assume that you are running GW in full screen mode. So what is happening is that it is jumping out of 3D mode.

As Quaker said this could be caused by overheating (of the GPU normally the CPU will shut the computer down completely unless you have changed that).

It could also be due to bad drivers, or a driver conflict. Check that your graphics card drivers are uptodate.

When you list machine specs please also list the anti-virus and firewall you have running. I've seen weird errors recently that appear to have been caused by conflicts between drivers and av/fw programs.

Really need to know what that message says. Is it something along the lines of "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"?

I had the exact same problem. This is how i solved it.

Open your comp up (mine just slides open, you may have to unscrew a few bolts). take a look around and locate a medium sized fan. Below the fan there should be like a small ribbed box. Unscrew the fan off but be careful not to damage the small wires with which it is connected. Take a vaccuum cleaner and take out all the dust, do the same with the fan. reassemble everything.

If this is a hardware overheating problem, this will solve it. If it doesnt solve it, hell at least your computer will be more quiet.

Do not use a vacuum unless you want to kill your computer. Vacuums generate a lot of static electricity which is no good for the components inside of the computer. Use compressed air instead.
