I resently upgraded my Graphics card to a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS .

Problem is now GW runs worse on it. :/ I updated my drivers. Still bad.

Specs:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
1024MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS

Im planning on upgrading my processor to a 3.0. But before i do this Id like to know if anyone can help me resolve my 9fps in GW on this Graphics card.

You say you have updated your drivers - did you delete the old ones first?

I would try removing the graphics drivers completely, reboot the machine, then reinstall the drivers and see what happens.

I wouldn't even have bought a 8400GS, I would buy a 8600GT because they are 3 times better than a 8500.

it all depends on what you've upgraded from and your monitor resolution. of course, there's also the issue of what slot you are using.

in other words, you need to give us more information.

um this is offtopic but i didnt want to start a new thread just to ask a little question. so here goes :

Is there any way to uncap the FPS in gw?
Ive looked around n couldn't find nothing, yet one of the idiots in my previous guild was gloating and said when he oc'd his processor he could get 300FPS, and i find that hard to belive. And that got me thinking, i wonder what my new *Cheap* Pc would get.

Hello.
I just bought the same Video Card, and am also having the same problems.
I have a 4 year old computer which has the graphics built in the motherboard.
I had no troubles before.
I had bought a new video card, because I recently picked up Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, and every time I tried to play, it would just freeze up.
Anyway, I bought this same Nvidia card, and everything runs great, especially the Star Wars game.
But now when I play Guild Wars, the picture looks awesome, but sadly I can't get over 6 FPS. I never had this problem til I installed the video card.
Maybe J-J and I are having the same problems.
As far as uninstalling the old drivers, I did this after setting up the new video card. I deleted the old drivers, and disabled the ATI card in the device manager.
I had deleted the ATI, but whenever I restart, it just shows back up.
I tried the BIOS thing, but there really is nothing really there that says video card or anything.
I tried all the settings at the lowest level, and still no luck.
I even reinstalled the game.
It's a headache, I've played Guild Wars for over two years with no problems.
I was going to make a new thread here, but figured I would post here, as I seem to have the same problems.

the BIOS setting you are looking for should be IGP, or something along that line. without direct physical access to your computer, there's no way i can tell for sure.
