Why not? It's quite easy to run GW on Linux. He might have to install a real version though, not whatever comes with the manufacturer.

Ok, not running GW on a netbook but I do run it on a built-in graphics card (AMD780G) and game runs perfectly fine. My guess is that depending on built-in graphics it would run fine on a netbook as well. Just have to reduce some graphics settings that's all.

there's a gigantic difference between the AMD 780G integrated graphics, and intel's GMA950 used in netbooks. the difference is about the same as comparing a cheetah with a house cat.
with that said, the GMA950 in most netbooks SHOULD be able to handle GW. but if it doesn't, go here:

It should definitely work, I mean I ran it for a year on a old dell laptop that was easily built in 2000, running xp pro, with only 512 ram, a built in video card, over a high schools wireless connection while running some java programming programs in the background. And the laptop was definitely meant for business work, not gaming when it came out so many years ago. And I didn't have to close out any background processes at all in order to run it and it ran fairly smooth (of course at the lowest graphic settings).
I have yet to think of a computer that can't run it if that thing could.

Settings for 3D analyzer are as follows (hope this is correct for your machine)
in the Performance section check the box marked 'force zbuffer'.
in the anti-detect section check the box marked 'shaders'.
in the box marked 'z-buffer' check the box marked 'force 24 bit zbuffer (with stencil)
that should do the trick.

or, you can just check the "emulate hardware TnL caps" box, and get full image quality. if that doesn't work, then use "force sw TnL".
