Check the air ports and fans on your computer. A failed fan isn't letting cool air into the machine, and a failed fan on the Graphics Card is literally going to kill it. Also, if you hae never opened your PC and you have owned it for a while, there is also most likely a caking of dust covering the air vents or even clogging fans. Try that first.
Trust me when I tell you, cleaning even a small amount of dust can take a computer that acts like it's hardware is dying (with corresponding BSOD's explaining that the hardware is bad) and make it run like new again when the dust is gone, BSOD free.
