Damn it - took hours for those 3 little files to upload :/
Silly, basic instructions: Start TexMod. Click the top button and browse to where gw.exe is. Click the folder icon in the lower part and select the .tpf files you require. Finally, click on the .tpf file you wish to run so that is highlighted. THEN press Run.

So now I'm even more puzzled...

I would strongly suspect that either your guildmate gave you the wrong file, or it got corrupted during upload/download, or there is some other problem with the .tpf file.
Now that we've established it will work with no .tpf, let's try a single, small, and simple .tpf and see what happens.
Try this file: FarmersScythe.tpf
I made it myself, so I know it works. And it's small enough that data corruption in transit is unlikely. The only thing it does is make a silly change to the Farmer's Scythe icon:
If that works, the problem was probably with the .tpf your guildie gave you. If it doesn't, well, then I'd be pretty stumped.
-----------------------
[Edit: Another thought -- Is your .dat file fully imaged? I recall Skyoone saying something about the carto mods breaking if the textures that were supposed to be replaced weren't present to begin with. Maybe that has something to do with it?)

I just DC'd him copies of the .tpf files I use, hence my previous post. It's not faulty .tpfs.
Waiting for comeback on my basic suggestions, above

It's most likely not having a complete .dat. You can't replace a texture, if there is no texture in the .dat to replace.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to do this, I'm kinda new here, and I didn't see any rules against it... If I am posting in the wrong place, please point me where to go.
So I'm having the exact same problem as the person mentioned before. Texmod WILL run Guild Wars without packages. I've downloaded packages from all over trying to find one that works. I've done everything posted in here before. I'm running Windows XP with a Nividia 8800 GT and a quad core processor.
I start up texmod, run it how I always have been doing, and one day it stopped working. Gave me a "Shit happens D'oh" message. (Not very helpful eh?) My AVG anti-virus popped up and said trogan found in the file. I had heard of this before, so I said ignore. I tried again, same problem, and the trojan thing popped up again. So I turned off AVG, and tried again. Same problem. -_-
The current version of texmod and Cartography made easy I got straight from the wiki.
If anyone could help, I'd be really greatful. I got to 99.8% cartography when it stopped working and I can't find that last bit! Driving me insane.

EDIT:
AHH
Make sure you're running Gw.exe, and not a shortcut of Gw.exe
|
You can run it using a shortcut the shortcut still points to the GW.exes actual location.
A guildie of mine is having an issue as well though. Tried everything still nothing.
Vista Premium he is using. Cant figure out whats wrong with his.

The only time I have ever gotten that error has been due to my anti virus scanner blocking it. Even whitelisted, anytime my virus scan would run it would delete it. I have since changed to Avast anti virus, and no longer have any problems.

Yeah fixed it that way, never had problems with my antivirus program, until this. I disabled ESET [its nod32] AV and firewall. Now runs fine.
