Guru at a crawl.
Site is acting erratic on me.
Lets start with my ISP Connection. It's comcast cable and its fast. Every other site I go to loads very fast, GW does not have high latency, games from the steam store download in the MBPS range consistently.
I want a simple answer by someone who literally sits and looks at the guru server specs everyday and it's connection to tell me why this site gives such problems. When gameamp went down and I came here the site seemed to be fast again since back when gameamp was still around most of us noted guru as "the site that never loads" but... it's starting to become that again.
First off I don't have screenshots for these but for a while now it I will post something and it will hang for many minutes then say I can't post too fast in 30 seconds or whatever... but to go back to the thread.... it posted and its there so If i don't go back to the thread and just wait 30 seconds I look like the idiot who double posts. And I only hit the submit reply button once, believe me i know what happens when you hit it more then once.
The other problem is similar instead its with searching for threads, I'll specify what I want to search and then search it... hang..hang....then the please wait 30 seconds message (assuming that i somehow magically searched for more then one thing while everything was missing from the page while it loaded) and no search results on my screen.
Now here are some screens.
1. I open Firefox and click my Guru bookmark.
Result: Guru loads everything and then immedantly stops and hangs to struggle loading the top forum posts.

As much as it looks like a silly photoshop.....sadly for me it isn't.
*
2. I get pissed and close firefox and start over.
Result: Site barely loads.. hangs at this image below for a long time.

*
3. Before I close firefox again, really pissed off at this point some more of the site loads.

*
4. I just close firefox and try again. I load guru again... it loads except part of the sidebar over to the left. This stupid thing not loading cause links NOT to load either.........

*
5. Heres what it looks like for 45-60 seconds trying to load a topic.

*
6. Heres the most common result of clicking my guru bookmark (almost every day)
Image: http://i25.tinypic.com/23o6l5.jpg
It just SITS THERE and does NOTHING.
*
Why does the site not like loading sometimes? It was hard even to try and log in all day..post this topic..hell even preview it before I sent it out on it's way.
My internet connection passes, My comp passes, everything works flawlessly for such a long time, there are no bottlenecks on my home network. I live on the east coast of the USA if that has anything else to do with guru's location.

Gaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I have been getting the same as shown in your first screenshot since last night, so that increases the chances of it being something wrong on Guru's end rather than yours.
EDIT: After reading the pretender's post I tried loading it up on my laptop which uses Chrome and it loads fine, but I still get those problems with IE on my desktop. Try it with Chrome, you will probably end up using it instead of FF anyway, its a great browser.

First off, your request is simply ridiculous. You have to take into account that this site isnt highly funded and thus, does not have as much bandwidth that is needed sometimes to support all the users;this is not an official site.

No problem here!
(Using Google Chrome)
I've yet to have any problems! Always loads 100% of the time!
And I re-loaded the page 36 times, With every single try, I cleared the cache and my full history!
Average load speed 1-1.6 seconds. Full page load nothing missing.
Edit:
Most of your screenshots still showed "Transferring data:"
I think Firefox it self is timing out on you big time!

Ok.. I used to use Chrome as a back-up browser sorta and got rid of it..but I'm not going to use anything besides Firefox, it has all the add-ons that I love and it's been faithful and secure for the 4-5 Years I've been using it. If it's only hating on Guru..so be it I can live with guru loading like crap if it is fine with anything else.

it sounds like firefox itself, I remember one of the recent versions - 3.1 I think would be buggy with guru for me. but it ironed out with an update or two.
another possibility is that your av firewall software has guru listed as a potential threat and is trying to block it, wouldn't hurt to check and see if you can add guru to an exception list there....

Simple answer - Guru is notorious for going through periods when it slows to a crawl. I suspect that some of these times are the result of routine maintenance being done. At any rate, I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 atm and it's been good lately - when/if it gets laggy, I just go off and do something else for a while.

Yeah, no one does that. We're all volunteers here.
Secondly, the servers were upgraded with MOAR RAM a few months ago. Since then, I've experienced no slowdowns at all. Occasionally Inde has to perform maintenance during the day which usually caused the "Database error" to be displayed. Other than that, I've had no slowdowns.
Seems like it's something on your/your ISP's end.
Also, I'm using the latest version of Firefox.
