My FPS is low but no lag?
A good computer would run at 60FPS.
I'm running gw on Nvidia GeForce 7100.
Intel (2-core) 2.2GHz
4GB ram
2x250Gb
Win XP Sp3
73Kbps wired internet.
If i have a low Fps, 26 usually with peaks at 46. I'm on max graphics, and run both KS mod and around 8 texmods. I never lag though. Is a fps rate like this normal for an internet based game?

fps and ping are two different things. if you have bad ping, your game tends to rubberband. if you have bad fps, your game will stutter.

My fps is as listed.
My ping usually goes between 13 and 400 due to the fact that I use Cogeco and they really really don't deserve to exist.
I don't rubber band often, I was just wondering if my FPS was normal when most games are supposed to run at around 30.

your game will run as fast as your hardware can manage. there are those who play GW at very low fps. Tommy of teamquitter fame, for instance, plays at 15 fps using intel integrated graphics. he still managed to be one of the best monks in GW history.

considering the video card you have, and the mods etc your FPS is very acceptable, and if your ping maxes out at 400 you are luckier than many that play GW..... :s

I agree with Elder - I'm surprised you even get that high an fps using that GPU and max settings. The fps you get is mainly a function of the game/monitor rez, the graphics goodies you have enabled, and the power of your graphics card. Try turning the settings down a bit or get a better graphics card if you want better fps.

1. Ping and FPS shouldn not be mixed.
2. FPS above 24-25 is acceptable (since your eye won't notice any difference)

you can easily tell the difference between 25 fps and 60. movies get away with such low FPS because it has motion blur and they require no user input. for a game, 24 FPS is VERY noticeable.

I would say that 24 FPS = unplayable for just about any 3D game, possible exception being some Strategy games that don't require rapid movement or manipulation of keys/mouse/etc
