i'm not sure what kind of performance you are expecting, so i'm going with the highest performance allowed within your price range. not too sure just how quiet they are, but they shouldn't be too bad.

O, I like the PSU The Vid card I'm not too sure about, I unfortunately haven't been able to keep up with technology with school and such. It looks cheap enough, and has X800, so it has to be good

Those are great. I'd get those if I had your budget.

Ok, it's decided I'm gettin what Moriz suggested except slight changes:

PSU: 550w corsair instead (it's on sale here)
Vid Card: Single Slot Hybrid Version of EVGA 9800gt

Can't wait to order

you will be very happy with the 9800gt

you could consider the HD4850 from ATI, but it is louder and runs hotter - although very powerful for it's price.

hybrid version? do graphic cards run on gasoline as well as electricity now?

anyways, the HD4850 is more powerful, but also more expensive. it will likely place him outside his budget.

until AMD release their $120 card (they don't have one atm), the 9800GT is king.

I did consider it...but it is louder and runs hotter, which would be why I'm not buying it. I saw the temps on that bad boy...whew. And it's more expensive than the 9800gt.

yep hybrid version, the latest in gas-efficient video cards I'm getting that version because it's the same price as the non-hybrid version, and apparently is more energy efficient, as desired in today's gas-run cards.

I have the 4850 Dualslot from sapphire, it comes at the same price as a standard 4850.

That is average temp when playing games. (notice the small overclock too)
Idle it sits around 45. Silent when idle and stressed too!
Might be a bit out of your budget, but it's definitly worth it.

The 9800GT runs nice and cool. I would highly recommend it based on your budget.

I got a VisionTek Radeon HD 4850 for $149.99 at Fry's Electronics and it came with a $40 mail-in-rebate also. That's a fantastic deal, especially since it has a lifetime warranty, but I don't know if they're still that price at Fry's.

Edit:
Oh and it idles at 45 degrees Celsius while idle with a fan fix of 50%. That's with the stock cooler. I'm sure those aftermarket coolers do a better job.
