I can only say that I have a Z-board somewhere. It's sitting on a shelf. I don't remember why, but I didn't like it overall.
Edit - btw, I'm currently using a BenQ A800 keyboard, which is basically just a generic keyboard with a few extra buttons. Benq don't seem to be making keyboards any more. Most of the "gaming" keyboards I've seen are too full of gee-wiz gewgaws for me.

I'll tell you why, Quaker - because it is made of cheap, rattly plastic and it doesn't have a numpad. I had one - gave it to my son pretty damn quick and got myself a G15.

G15 is good
personally though I like a simple wired keyboard that I can smash and bash and pour coffee on and still use the next day. The old IBM ones were great for that. XD Most of the "gaming" ones are just a waste of money, but it really depends on personal preference. Try to test one out at a store or somewhere before you buy it, otherwise you may be like me and send it back and just use that old clunker in the closet again. :/

If you can grab a Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard for cheap, get one of those. It has phenomenal reviews.

I was about to suggest this one as well, along with the Sidewinder mouse they seem to make a good pair of gaming peripherals. Don't bother with the Zboard, it's gimmicky and pretty poorly made and the game specific additions aren't very helpful. Also keep in mind most gaming keyboards are fairly large in comparison to most standard keyboards, so make sure you have enough desk space beforehand.
