Right now I'm looking for an external hard drive (minimum 250GB) to store all of my media and a few programs, and an external disc drive for my netbook. The only problem is I'm strapped for cash and need some help finding good offers considering I'm not all that bright with computers.

I've been poking around Play.com (one of the only realiable e-buying websites I know, I don't buy off the internet much) and found this, but I've also seen one with a capacity of 1TB here for pretty much twice the price with 4 times as much as the one prior. Ofcourse, if I get the second one I'll probably have no memory needs for a long time.

I've also saw an external CD drive at £40 here, which to me is a good price, but as I said before, I'm not all that bright with coputers.

Or would it be cheaper to grab one that works off internal hard drives / CD drives (through IDE, just needs a little switching and I have a spare CD drive lingering about) and buy an internal hard drive to just hook up with that?

do you have to have an external? An internal drive would be significantly cheaper for you.

Here is a 640gb hard drive for around £59.79, I live in america so I don't know how much that is but it seems to be around your price range.
