My guess would be that either AMD or nVidia will have the better price/performance, and it will change weekly.

I'm currently an ATI owner but will go back to nVidia once it's time for an upgrade. This is because of the Looong load times in BF:BC2 and it's purely an ATI issue. But to each their own.

I play BC2 on two computers, one with a HD 5770 and another with a 4650 (or 46-something?). Neither have long loading times at all.

ummmm, long loading times is more likely a processor or Hard Drive issue or even RAM than GPU...

i thought the load time issues were fixed about two driver versions ago. time to upgrade drivers if it's still an issue.

Nope, It's a driver downgrade unfortunately. I'm using the latest drivers. Also nothing to do with CPU HD or ram.

Who would be using an Ati Vid Card without an AMD Processor??
AMD>Intel and Ati>Nvidea for Gamers Fusion is the future.

This is an urban myth. There is no problem mixing and matching and no reason not to. The closest you can come to truth here is that some chipsets only support either Crossfire or SLI, but that is the chipset, not the CPU, and only if you are using 2 or more cards in Crossfire or SLI - for a single card it doesn't matter.
Also, like it or not Intel > AMD at this time. (I'm in the not-like category, btw) If you check the performance charts, anything from an i5-750 on up outperforms anything AMD has - even the hexa-cores - for gaming. Oddly enough the AMDs seem to be better at some apps.
This, of course, will hopefully change with the upcoming Bulldozers.
I'm currently running an i5-750 with an HD4870 <--- to be updated post GW2 release, with whatever/whoever has the best price/performance at the time. So, the answer to your question is - I would.

I'd agree that right now Intel has the best options for high end gaming. If you're on a budget AMD has some nice options, but if you want the best it's hard to go with AMD now, even the hexacores (unless you do lots of encoding etc... - which the avg person does not). Bulldozer may change it, but only time will tell.......
oh yeah, 2 HD4850s and an i5 750 here --- works great too.
