2 anti virus programs?
Hey!
I am wondering if i will be able to run 2 anti virus programs at the same time? amt i use Telia secure surf and im thinking of getting Avira Antivir to fill up my needs on high security
so is this possible or will they detect eachother as viruses?

Im pretty sure you can run two antivirus programs at once,I wouldn't advice doing it though.
There is a chance that they may conflict with eachother and I could think that it would be counter productive.
Say one of the vsr are checking a file and the other one also wants to check that same file, but it finds that the file is "in use" and skips it and the first vsr doesnt catch that its a virus but the second would have, but didnt because it skipped.
So yes im sure you can, but you shouldn't.

Malwarebytes & Telia should b ok 2 run @ the same time ones a virus scan and the other malware/spyware removal. Should b ok 2 run together. I have always used Avast Free Home edition, Malwarebytes, & Spybot Search & Destroy. Malware & Spybot check the same files pretty much so dont run them @ the same time. Not One Key-Logger in my 4+ years of playing GW's. Cross my fingers X.

I can Guarantee that Malwarebytes is not a trojan. Used it 4 years. Here is legit site 2 d/L from (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) . If you still cant get 2 work you can try a small program called Combofix.exe (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix) goto one of the trusted sources --- *BleepingComputer.com* *ForoSpyware.com* and download and try I do suggest running it in SAFE mode.

There are others who may be more in the know.. but i have never had 2 anti-virus programs run together compatibly (is that a word?) they always conflict and detect eachother as trojans or virus's.
One techi site said the fact that each program detects stores or vaults virus's makes the other flag the competing program.

I run Avast Home, free edition memory resident, and have Malwarebytes anti-malware and manually scan with it. Have had no compatability issues. I also have Iobit Security 360 as an extra "Anti" program. They each have caught issues that the others have missed. I run both Spybot and Spyware Terminator, with Terminator memory resident. Again no compatability issues.

Get avast, which IS a virus scanner.
Malwarebytes is an anti-malware scanner, not an anti-virus.
These two will not conflict with each other.
Never run two antivirus programs (avast and avira, etc) at the same time.

I tried Avast but it didn't pick up on some of the things that Avira AntiVir did. Although the latter has an annoying ad. that pops up every other day*
