It is annoying, it acts like the battery is dead, but I just charged it for 6 hours yesterday! It used to last a few days, maybe even a week on a full charge... Now sometimes when I am trying to dial, it randomly shuts off and 90% of the time it turns back on. I recently got a new iPod touch, could that be a problem? Is it receiving interference via the multiple wireless devices in my home? Or is the battery worn out?

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I figured it would since technicians fix electronics...

I do not think that the problem is your iPod or interference. It might be your battery, maybe water damage? (Did you leave it outside? Kids get a hold of it sometimes?) I think you might just have to replace the phone. BUT I AM NOT AN EXPERT, just my thoughts on your situation.

Also not an expert but i'd doubt that wireless interference would be giving you issues - otherwise you'd have problems whenever someone used the microwave too but you could always test it by browsing on your Iphone and trying to call someone :P

Personally I also think its a battery thing but it sounds more like the battery connection is a bit upset, have you tried taking the battery out and giving it a good clean (obviously not with oodles of water just with a very slightly damp cloth and not while its connected to the mains or anything!) as it could just be dust/gunk on the battery connector.

You can also buy replacement phone batteries from places like Maplins (UK) rather than replacing the whole phone if the cleaning doesn't seem to help. It might be worth putting this in the Q/A of a phone orientated site as most people posting on here are more computer savvy as its to do with GW :P

Sounds like a dead phone to me, but obviously replacing the battery would be a good first option. however, depending on how fancy of a phone you have it might be better to just buy a new one, since they are pretty cheap these days.

Could be a bad battery. If the battery is removable, you could try cleaning the contacts if they look dirty (emery board and/or alcohol) or replace it.
It could also be that the phone has been dropped or otherwise suffered damage which has caused a small crack it an internal connection. If you are handy with fine tools and a soldering iron, you could take it apart to have a look-see. Or, you could just trash it.
