Hi, I have/had 2 big problems with my new computer and OS and searched the forums for problems. One problem is solved, but the other problem isn't

I'm keep getting blue screen in pvp format ( strange because have no such problem when i'm playing pve ) on windows 7 ( 32 bit ).

I'm been playing from 2006, and had no problems at all on my old computer with windows xp, when I bought the new one ( first i had win vista ) i'm getting blue screens

( in both OS, vista and 7 ). The other problem was this and now it's fixed ( I think i turn down the graphic settings a bit ).

I try'd reinstalling the drivers, the game, everything... but the problem is the same

( note: got no problems with other games, like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, etc. )

My comp specs are:
Intel dual core E5200 2.5 Ghz
4 GB ddr2 ram
Geforce 8600 GT ( 512 )
windows 7 32 bit
directx 11

( I can upload the Dxdiag test if that helps ). Please, if anyone can help me on this, or explain the problem, it would be much appreciated. ( Been playing like this almost 7 months, can't take it anymore

)

Did you try a re-install? An "-image"?

Win 7 is kinda wonky with GW for me as well, not so much crashes and BSODs, but more with dual monitors and the game minimizing to the background with right-clicks sometimes. (might just be my mouse going bad, not sure, too cheap to get a new gaming mouse XD)

on the shortcut right click and select properties then select compatibility - then select xp from drop down menu - give that a try it might work.

Ok, I'll try the game with compatibility, hope that works, if not, i'll write back after 1-2 days ( i'm at university, and don't have much time to test this ).

So with the compatibility set on windows xp is not helping at all

Just got another blue screen like 10 minutes ago

, before the blue screen, got this problem, and after 10-15 seconds... boom... blue screen

Did you reinstall the game and then launched it with an -image in the command line?

OK nvlddmkm.sys points to possible video card driver error

if you google nvlddmkm.sys you will discovered quite a few threads covering this issue -

most threads tend to state download the lastest drivers from your graphics card provider etc....

nvlddmkm.sys - Not a good thing

First , check if your power supply is enough to power the video card and your system.

Make sure you remove all video drivers , then restart into safe mode , run a driver cleaner program as DH Driver Cleaner.NET , read instructions and search for all old drivers/files and clean it. After that is done , then download the latest videocard driver from nvidia.com and install it.

*NOTE:* If you cannot install the latest video drivers from nvidia (if you get the message that the system hasn't been modify. then restart into safe mode , and use the Run command and type temp , a folder will open, delete all the files on that folder. Then restart the system normally and install the nvidia video drivers.

Make sure you have the latest motherboard's chipset drivers installed and also latest bios flashed. Make sure your video card is installed correctly (if the correct powersupply cables are connected to the video card , if it fix correctly into the pci-e slot , if it is screwed correctly).

Which drivers did you re-install? Some people assume that this sort of problem is video related, but that's not always the case. Often, it's the result of the interaction between various drivers. Also, it's not always beneficial to simply "re-install" the same old drivers.
You should make sure that all of your drivers - video, audio, motherboard, etc. - are as up-to-date as possible.
You can get the latest drivers by going to the various manufacturers websites or, you can even go through Windows Update and see if there are any updated drivers for your hardware. (They won't always be 'priority updates', so you need to look for 'additional updates' as well.)

Yes, I did reinstall the game many times, but no, I did not launched it with the -image command line

Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow and see if this works ( I hope so ). Maybe the power supply has some problems, because it's only 480W

I don't think thats enough power for my computer, but I can test this, because tomorrow my uncle will give his video card to me. It's a 9600 GT ( I know, it's not the same, but if this has problems too, than the problem is solved, I hope... )

Ok, I could not fix the problem and starting to think that my video card has some issues. I try'd everything, every solutions you guys gave me... but sadly, nothing works

So, today, I was in town and bought a new video card... and for my surprise, Guild Wars works fine now, just like in old days. So Thanks again ! This thread can be closed.

Another nVidia card, GT 220 on 1 GB ram and it's seem this works fine, no more blue screens and graphic problems.

For that price you could have gotten a GTS250 already... which is much better than the GT 220. I guess as long as it works now and you're happy, it's ok... but it does look like you've been ripped off. Where do you live and where did you buy it?

yeah, I know that the price was high, but the truth is, I only payed 40 euros because I bought the card from the same place, where I did bought the computer. ( thats why, they gave me almost 50% discount ) And this was the best card they got...

but at least it's working fine. ( and I'm living in Transylvania )
