Please Help, Can't connect to Arenanet at all!
Please help me figure this out, it is driving me nuts. I came back home after the summer, ready to play some GW. When I started it up, it is just sitting at a screen which says "Connecting to Arenanet" and stays at 0%. Everywhere I look people just say it is a firewall issue. However, GW.exe is an exception on my firewall, and it did nothing. Then I disabled my firewall completely, still nothing. I ran a diagnostic test on GW and as far as I can tell, here is the problem:

Try this
I had the same problem for a while. I solved it by deleting the gw.dat file. I had to re-download everything, but it worked. I might also recommend trying a complete uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks for the tip, I actually figured out a different way to do it though. I disabled Windows Firewall completely, stopped it, then went into the command prompt and deleted sharing. Then I downloaded a new firewall (Comodo) and restarted my computer. For some reason that did the trick. Or at least it seems to, I am now waiting on an update to finish downloading (haven't played the game in about 6 months) so I will report back here when it is finished, if it actually works.

Did you happen to install PeerGuardian2? It's defaults block all traffic to guildwars.
