Anyhow, I plan to OC my CPU (aiming for 3.8ghz, would be happy with 3.6 though) and I was wondering if I ought to OC my GPUs as well?
Asus M47A Plus mobo
AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition @ 3.0ghz stock
Thermaltake SpinQ CPU Cooler
4 GB Patriot DDR2 1066
ATI 4850 512mb (stock/original cooler - bought when they first came out)
Gigabyte 4850 512mb (Zalman heatsink/cooler)
Now my worry in Overclocking the video cards is the reference cooler on the stock 4850 isn't that great..... it's set at 60% manual fanspeed and the Gigabyte 4850 consistently runs @ 15-20C cooler & quieter (I love Zalman). Now the highest temps I hit are usually around 85C or so in Far Cry 2, which is the most graphics intense game I play currently). Do you guys/gals think I should OC the stock ATI card???
*perhaps my new HAF 932 will lower the GPU temps a good 10C or more and this whole thread will be a moot point....

Well your not going to see a 10*C drop unless your ambient somehow plumets. Anyway, yes you can OC with stock coolers, are you going to get a extremely high OC? Of course not, but if your in the mind set that anything is better than nothing you can push them a little.
